I wonder where you guys got the delusion that decision processes like these should even be remotely democratic.
I'm quite sure this has been discussed thoroughly in some murky IRC backroom. As it should.
Not that it really matters anyways since things might as well change again next week.
I think its natural that community veterans who do tons of coding have a bigger say than forum trolls. (I'm not referring to you Stem Sunders )
I'm totally sure it was discussed before too, obviously.
I'm just saying that one day there is a thread, the next day a nerf.
To the ill informed that may seem dodgy.
I'm not pointing fingers and calling out names, but to others it may seem like abuse of power and influence even if that is not the case.
I'm completely sure that the devs aren't subjects to peer pressure in anyway.
But someone (A veteran/coder) complains about something that he
loses battles too thinks is OP for what it is.
and then that item receives a nerf.
And just because someone codes and has played a game longer than someone else, does not
necessarily mean the changes they desire are correct or good for the collective.
Just like anyone else they are subject to their own wants requirements fancies and opinions.
And while I think veterans do hold more weight in their opinions for obvious reasons.
I think its wrong to push everybody else further down the list because "You're not a veteran"
"You don't code" "You know nothing John snow"
That sorta stuff has the potential to stop someone from seeking out a contributing role in projects.
Even if that role is just playing the game and reporting a few bugs and suggestions.
No one wants to suggest something that a veteran comes along and puts down because you're a noob and simply haven't been around for as long and haven't yet contributed like they have.
I don't think anyone is trying to troll, people just want to express if they are for or against a decision/suggestion.
When one person says yes and seemingly the majority are saying no, but the answer still becomes yes.
I think thats what people were seeing here.
