ok my 2 cents on free rerolls, rerolls as a standalone feature is great but its not something which would fit into an non fully arena type of game.
if some of you guys would have understand the design from last season aop then you would understand that alts or rerolls not really needed.
why, somebody will ask...
well , gaining more levels in fonline aop character design gives u the ability to make some a , b , c , d build more versatile in terms of using other weapon classes without much differences than just some special stats and specialised perks (for example maxing all weaponskills out) so in the long run somebody who would just level one char would have a much better versatile build in comparison to e.g. some softcapped char, even if he plays a sniper or whatever else he or she is dedicated in ... and the game , atleast in last season, provided alot of weapons from each classes that could be used even with some non dedicated S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats, perks character (for example a ripper can be used by any build efficiently if u have unlocked all weapon perks, ofc some dedicated build will do better but thats becasue of its dedication, furthermore it wont be that much better from what i have experienced, the biggest gaps were probably just between big gun sniper and regular fighting character and sneak and regular fighting character ... the regular fighting character could use anything propperly except this big gun snipe builds and sneak ones theres even a third one which is known as the all support skills 200 but only 1 weapon skill maxed out. i mean i know what im talking about i had like 5 alts but my main combat char remained mostly all the time the same except from swapping minor things here and there like later added level24 perks and so on for a more dedication depending on weapon buffs and nerfs). in the long run it was the most enjoyable thing i was getting out of this fonline because it wasnt exactly like on other servers where you cant go with anything else than just 100% dedicated builds.
from my perspective the best solution would be to keep rerolls in but make them cost something aka you need to play a bit before you can reroll ( could be done with caps [ which is meh but weeeh ] or through scavenging and rare loot or some rare dungeon loot and so on, there are many ways to make this interesting ... imo the goal should be to keep people occupied and gaining levels while searching for some reroll item or the caps whatever to get a more versatile build isnt a bad idea either, but thats just my opinion ... i could be wrong, i mean im just a human and maybe i didnt understand aop design before but this is my honest impression on how it was working, peace )
the goal should be something like making rerolls not super rare but on other hand not similar boring like grinding for implants on reloaded and over this should always stand the goal that leveling a char higher gives you more options than rerolling a level 24 character. thats why i curse on trollfeatures like npc melee 2 hex attack radius and food not giving carryweight anymore without rebalancing the carryweight you gain from your primary stats ... really the gamedesign it had was okey but now its meh one way ticket, before it was more versatile ... you could do some minor dungeons alone etc. pve needs to be reverted to last season state with all this trollfeatures removed and then u can think about adding more small dungeons and other stuff on top of rebalancing rerolls ...
or eitherway go fully arenamod and keep all the shit in without worryin.
