Chinese Stealth Suit
« on: October 18, 2014, 01:28:53 AM »

Probably way to OP but still it would cool to never be seen at all, of course the stealth field would disappear when performing ANY action though. I'm only suggestion this cuz there doesn't seem to be a stealth friendly armor in the game (the leather armor doesn't count cuz it shouldn't give you sneak bonuses XD ) but any ways I think it would make the game much more interesting, I'm just picturing myself sneaking up on a gang of Lawyers and hearing there plans then returning to base and prepare to counter :D

Unless you will be able to sneak into people's teamspeaks =\.

I'm against it, there are more than enough armour types in this game already.

I am sort of with Myakot on this one, but a set of advanced light armor (Stealthsuit) with an inbuilt stealthboy would be kind of cool as a rare t3 armor, it could be like the "power armor" of light armors.

There are just no current armor models that would suit it properly, though black or camo-ed CA would look fine in my books.

This a good little idea for a TL3 item. Need a unique sprite but black or camo'ed CA would do.

sneak is too high risk for a T3 armor

if i had one id just sell it for ten leather jackets and ten sneakboys

But what if it was magically enchanted to never run out of stealth charges and/or didn't have a penalty to damage taken when desneaked and/or gave a nice +50 to sneak.

Anyone of those or and combination would make it quite tempting. That and better resistances than a leather jacket at least :)

Actually halving the severeness of de-sneak debuff would make it "desirable" enough, and if it will be a T3 armour, I don't see why not.

Nah, make it that good and sneak will get nerfed again. I don't think sneakers can survive another nerf - don't provoke it ;)

T3? Mustn't be good? Majority won't risk wearing that, so nothing will suffer. Besides, if this armour will cause unbalancing, why nerf sneakers if you can just nerf it? ("why add it in the first place if we'll get it nerfed later" - is the question here)

Covert ops combat armor

It can be fun to have it as a 3 tier armor. More oriented to spy (because its less risky) it can also remove the PE penalty while sneaking and have a bonus to detect other sneakers.

Here, pick 1 out of the list of things i'm willing to give it:
- No stealth penalty ( no PE loss, no armor bypass )
- Permanent stealth ( All weapons gain silent strike ) but no bonus to stealth skill

The CONS:
- Runs on SEC , same energy draining concept as stealth-boy but probably harsher rate ( 1 : 3 instead of 1 : 5 )
- EMP weapons will disable for 12 seconds and incur armor bypass penalty if stealth.

That method could have some effect if the server population were higher. People would have less chances to check if everyone is a known guy or not. Currently, everyone will notice the new guy.

But it is more effective to create a new char with the appropriate faction and just follow them.

i would go for permanent stealth

EMP effect will come from pulse pistol / rifle / grenade right off the bat and added to other things if needed.

- No stealth penalty ( no PE loss, no armor bypass )
So slightly more sightrange and a little less armor bypass traded for -25 sneak skill and a big wad of cash the new armor costs? Doesn't seem to be worth it at all

- Permanent stealth ( All weapons gain silent strike ) but no bonus to stealth skill
Either completely useless or completely overpowered, depending on the reveal time that regular weapons would receive

Here, have some more ideas from someone that actually plays sneak :^]
- Instant (re)sneak when you land a kill. No matter if someone is looking at you or not. Something like this is what i always wished for when fighting in large ZCs, even if you kill the very last guy of a huge swarm, the rest of them will kill you during the reveal time on your weapon and then just defib the guy you killed.

- Model suggests a combat armor with sneak capabilities. So this armor would be something a hybrid sneaker/fighter would wear. A leather jacket would still be better for a pure sneaker and a pure fighter would still want whatever armor has higher DT and DR, so what should this armor provide? --> DR and DT between combat leather coat and CA mk3, but when you get a kill with a sneak weapon you get a damage buff for a limited amount of time (something like all damage you inflict amplified by 50% for 2 minutes). If you think of the salvaged PA as a purely defensive armor option with several downsides then this would be its offensive counterpart
