Runs poorly
« on: September 28, 2014, 01:53:02 AM »

This problem vexes me. I could run 2238+teamspeak with no problem.
World of Warcraft + teamspeak = no problem.
Star Wars Galaxies emu+ teamspeak = no problem.
Mount & Blade warband+ teamspeak = no problem.
Everquest emu + teamspeak = no problem.
AOP + teamspeak = major fps issues. often drops from 40-60 without TS to 5-20 with TS.
All the above games are definitely fancier than AOP, except 2238, so whats the deal?

I'll save you the effort and tell myself to update my pc. My pc is a potato. My pc is made of wood.

Fonline engine is unoptimized somehow because it can lag even on good machine. 2238 build is much better than cvet I don't know why but that's true.

Try the other client, the vanilla is using openGL ! Also try to disable overlay if you use it.

Try fullscreen too (if its same res as your monitor it might look fullscreen but its not)
I had some lag problems when running it in windowed mode and that fix'd it.

raise your fps cap in the configuration. I had 80 before and I changed it to 160 and I get 100-120 fps now

Strange. Why would you want 160fps, when most monitors work with just 60Hz?

In old 2238 client I got 100-500 fps in 1440x900 even more but it was on d3d not gl. Most of people dont see it but for me for example screen scrolling was much smoother and game was working faster.

Hey thanks for all your input. I am indeed using the secondary client.
I've fiddled with all suggestions except raising fps. Guess that's next!
I'm pretty sure it worked fine before, but there was an update about week two that "streamlined a few things", and it made it much rougher on my machine. Though I wasn't much into large scale pvp before that update.

Where is the secondary client to use d3d? Couldn't find it in folder/homepage/wiki/forum

More config/etc tips to improve fps on wood pcs?
