Problems... problems everywhere.
« on: September 14, 2014, 08:54:39 PM »

So I just downloaded this game, and I clicked on FOnline.exe. It notified me that I don't have MASTER.dat or CRITTER.dat, but still went on to the main screen. I tried to click on the game button, but the cursor didn't even show up. It shows up outside of the window, but when I place it back on the game window, it disappears.
I'm not sure what's going on, nor where I can get the files I'm missing. Somebody told me that the game itself came with the files I needed and there was no need to get Fallout 2, but then that thread got deleted.
I want to try this game out but there's too much confusion. Please help!

I uh...

don't have the files I need. Do you know where I can find them? I don't have a credit card, or else I might consider buying Fallout 2...

I managed to get Fallout.dat, but I don't know where to put it. Some guy in that response thread said it was an ok replacement for the MASTER.dat and CRITTER.dat, but I don't know where it's supposed to go since DataFiles.cfg won't open and won't allow a file to be put inside.

The files you need are out there, this is the internet after all. I don't condone pirating and the devs can't tell you exactly where to get them for legal reasons.

Google is your friend.

I managed to do it, thanks guys.
However, the game refuses to get on fullscreen, or to even let me see its toolbar. The text is too small and I need to squint to see it, is that normal?

Have you try to configure your game using FOConfig.exe ?

In "video" tab you will be able to set your resolution ( you can put your own resolution and are not limited to the choice of the dropdown list.  Your resolution should greater or equals to 1024*768 and smaller or equals to 1920*1080 ) and configure the fullscreen option.

Thanks for the help, everyone!

if you have cash but no credit card you can buy it, go to the store and I think its called green dot or something?  you can give them cash and put money into your pay pal account ( without a credit card)  then you can buy the game online.
Much better than paying for any of the other scavengin/post apocalyptic games that are currently out there ( most of whom want a whopping 25-30$) while a copy of fallout should be like 10$ MAX.

So, one last request. When I try to login or press play, it says the login is invalid.
I can go ahead to the character creation, but shouldn't I log in first?

No, you are supposed to create a character ;), then log in with him.

What's my password supposed to be?
I surmise that my username will be the character's name?
Sorry I'm asking what may be dumb questions, right now I haven't been able to finish updating the game :/

your password can be anything as long as you remember it and also im a brony:]
 do not judge meh
How the heck is that related to the topic, keep your fetishes to yourself and stop flashing them.

Your username is your character's name. Your password is your password to that character. Each character is a different account.

Thanks for the help. I'm definitely looking forward to the game, and I've brought some friends over!

Hey don't judge him for being a brony!  That is his life choice.

no1 judges him because of that, but because of his flashing. Whether you are a cannibal/pedophile I won't care, treating everyone the same, until they start going "hey, i eat people, don't judge me for that, it's my life choice!".
Sad shit that we're off-topping here, I'm sorry for that.
