Title: Platoon Deliveries
Post by: Caboose on November 21, 2014, 04:41:44 AM
I'm no coder or programmer so this is just a suggestion.

Since we're starting to talk about faction economy, with payments to players or platoons who get involved in zone control or higher payout to whichever faction controls most of the map, including key areas. How about the ability to place a recurring order with arms dealers within your faction? If I've used up all of my PKS ammo (for example), during various activities, can't my chest be filled up automatically with more ammo and the payment taken from the platoon war chest?

How about player scavengers setting up their own shops? Or even player engineers repairing guns and armour? People can charge what they like.

I like the idea of recurring orders :)

About for the players shops, I don't want something like FO2 though, it's really bad, making gaps between players even bigger.

That last one isn't going to do any good to the server.

That's what happens when you include such a feature.

well for one, market will fill the communication gap we have
i mean come on little bragging here and there friendly (or not ) chats , little interfaction barter for entusiasts , arena for one on one disputs, hub for factionless ppl,
good place to hire privateers
i can be location that can be entered from gate map menu
actualy the newb starting location is so well made and so unused yet market location is need but dont exist

I dont know, there is already a faction chat that makes most interactions you want possible.
Moreover, atm, stuff is so easy to get that there is no real point having so much time from devs spent on making a market (well imo).

I don't see any indication in TS's message that he wants an auction, he said "own shops, own repair-services" as of on FO2 (the first part).

I mostly want a constant supply of ammo for caps on delivery to my platoon, to save running down to buy ammo between ZC, assignment or dungeon - maybe I'm just lazy. If I know I've got to buy ammo or med supplies, I know I've got to work to pay the bill.

But I also like the idea of a market on the world map, which has high security, maybe BOS, which doesn't completely rule out PVP, but doesn't make it easy by any means. Scavenger players can give to the faction merchants and take a cut of the profits. Engineer players can go to market and offer to repair or craft gear/weapon even to other factions, but maybe at a rep cost.

And then when we're bored at 4 in the morning we can wipe out the market with V-tec swarm.

i like the idae of something similar market like the ones at TLA in den , you are right stuff is easy to get but dont forget that this would help economicy , the more players with more stuff at server means that u could probably buy good stuff there for lesser caps , because sellers would try to outbeat themself everytime which means if someone is selling lets say for example PKS there for 600 caps each im sure some other would offer them for 500 maybe thirs one comes and offer them for 400 ... i guess u get the idea plus it would be a cool place to check if someone is trading rare stuff like technical parts and so on ... i think this is a great idea , but for sure it should be fully protected ... if ya need a map for it let me know .
