Use a shotgun

Shotguns have less range than sneaker weapons tho.....

The Dev team also seems to greatly underestimate the power of attacking first: Im running around the core in full pvp gear, some sneaker starts hosing me with one of their uber weapon; As i result, i get winded, AP drained, suppressed and all that crap....no way i can defend myself after that.

''More of a support role'' You mean ON TOP of being the perfect killer and giving all ennemy position while being invisible? If you want sneakers to have more of a support role, just revert them back to recon class, problem solved. Let them use smokes and gadgets, but not wear CA and have top pvp level guns......Otherwise as i stated multiple times already: There is no point whatsoever to play anything else than a sneaker.

Should i be a SG sniper that spots people at 130 hex and be seen at 130 hexes too. Or should i be a Heavy sneaker BG sniper that spots people at 130 hexes, but only gets spotted himself at 60? hmmmm tough descision......

I generally dont like STALKER's idea about prohibiting sneak with nonsneak weapons, but adding more support role to sneak is one of the desired directions of development, and there are some plans on it already.

All you want to do is run around sneaking with assault rifles which is  :o :o

Well, generally Caboose is right about there are going to be like a few more ways to fight sneks in the future (flares, thermal vision?), but probably not very soon.

If they're made into recon, all of this will be unnecessary. Stop trying to make sneaks into some Predator Assassin and make them a support role. No more bullshit backstabbing, no more dying when you're low HP by sneaker, no more sneak snipes or running around with CA or ripper which is what pretty much killed the server in the first place, 2nd would be unstoppable swarm.

If you want to backstab, have sneak give you a safe path to do so.

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think any sneak weapon outranges the shotgun. I think it's very equal.

Needler:
- increased range from 25 to 35;
- changed damage from 27-47 to 30-45;
- reduced weight from 2000g to 850g;
- reduced all ammo weight from 45g to 5g;
- removed Field Inhibitor trait (wasnt working anyways).

PP19 Silenced
- increased damage from 13-18 to 18-23;
- increased single mode AP cost from 15 to 18;
- increased burst AP cost from 20 to 24;
- increased reload AP cost from 20 to 65;
- reveal time set to 800 ms;
- changed perks to: Bonus rate of fire, Slayer, Hit the Gaps, Bonus ranged damage, Finisher;
- range set to 30 on both modes;
- rounds shot set to 5.

Skorpion Evo Silenced:
- increased damage from 13-18 to 15-20;
- increased single mode AP cost from 15 to 18;
- increased burst AP cost from 20 to 24;
- increased reload AP cost from 20 to 40;
- reveal time set to 800 ms;
- changed perks to: Slayer, Bonus ranged damage, Bonus ranged damage, Slayer, Hit the Gaps;
- range set to 25 on both modes;
- rounds shot set to 6.

This is from last update. Bunch of sneaks weapons that got buffed. All of these have better range than shotguns, one of them is pretty even. (Again: who figured sneaks needed buffs?)

maybe integration of the SB into the jacket armors
no jacket armor no snek

then tailor them for specific snek roles
 
light jacket -least protection but best snek bonus , sprinter goodies ,paper wall,    active -fastest resneak time after hit, high perception penalty , biggest weight/drain ratio
this is the assasin/backstaber armor

combat jacket -medium protection , medium snek bonus , no sprinter but also no negative paper wall or malus, active- medium resnek time after hit, low perception penalty, medium cell drain
this is the recon/soldier armor

leather coat -highest protection , low snek bonus , medical and traps perk,
active-slowest resneak time after hit,medium perception penalty, best weight/drain ratio
this is the medic/bomber support armor 

no vulnerabilty stun piercing or other needlesy complicated desneak shenanigans
what you are and what u wear makes the amount of punishment u take fair and simple

only sneaker weapons to be usable in sneak mode any other weapon put in hands automaticaly desneaks the char

i allways was hard presed to find apopriate use for the dragunov rifles well make them sneakers long range weapon , i think they have fine stats for dat just make em snek skill based
ofcourse some kind of silent/concealed trait on few weapons from the other wep pools can give also some very nice flavor and alow sneks some extra wep variety


i think the above crude suggestions will drive the sneker class in its rightfull place as CLASS not everybody second or third support skill
