Stealth builds have many downsides, and one up side.

Downsides: For 5 seconds after you unstealth, every hit on you is a bypass armor hit
While stealthed, You lose 3 perception
Any time you die, your out an extra 300 caps for stealthboy+Charges

Upsides: Your a little more likely to hit your target first.

Thats not the only upside, what about evasion? run around a few corners and activate your stealth boy. "Where did he go :s"

Intelligence gathering? Post yourself at a gate during ZC and relay the enemy movements to your faction
"Over 9000 VTecs headed your way"

as for getting the hit, yes that is more likely but in addition to that it can confuse the enemy you just shot for a second making your second shot more likely to hit first too.
"Where did that come from"

You guys obviously still haven't met Ramon. Never seen more effective invisible killer than him.

Yes its effective and doable, if you know what you are doing.

The only downside to sneaking is that it has strict mechanics that differ from any other FOnline. Not only enemie's PE counts, but their AND yours facing counts in too.
Which basically means you have to be skilled to use it, which I'm currently trying to learn to. Won't be able to probably, but still, this is fun ;).

Yeah he is, I have nothing but respect for someone that good thou...
Also, he's a good indicator how great sneak skill is.

At least until everyone figures how to counter them beforehand

Is a stealth build effective or even doable?

Referring to its effectiveness - Just yesterday, while we were taking back the Gamma Gulp Distillery, driven by blind cupidity I decided to detach from our brahmin horde to loot the distillery on my own. Then suddenly I was killed by some lawyer silent cc-killer - just by taking 2 hits on my back - first for around 150hp, and second one for about 600hp.
