im not visiting this forum much and i missed this topic.. i played melee for long time, alot of things did get changed but from times when i was playing i have to say that it was strong enough, 1v1 i had no challenge (at least in not much open field without leadership bonuses - with them i was feeling like monster as i had 10 CH and my only weakness was bypasses which was fixed by leadership bonus along with 80+ normal DR with only regular metal armor mk1 and 95% DR with voodoo.. oh god i was laughing when some players was hitting me for 5+- dmg  ;D) however some run speed bonus is really needed because you just cant do anything when your target decides to run from you (you can see it on vid when i was running behind some player for like half of map and then i decided to change target)
tbh, i have no idea how this game looks like now, im just saying from what i remember from start of season

also that talking about 300-700 dmg hits is waste of time as HtH and sneaker are 2 different things, you cant balance them both with same things, regular HtH char needs it, sneaker not

you could always use voodoo which i found to be very strong drug on HtH, this DR and run speed bonus gives you ability to just rush enemies or catch them, however winded for 30 sec after that made me usually dead or useless for a while which was very annyoing during fights which was longer then 2mins and having to use it every time i have to catch someone isnt good thing, it has to be situational drug, noone should be really relying on it

sry for ressurecting locked topic, i just wanted to post my opinion on it as i was mentioned in topic and i played melee for some time, good that something like runspeed bonus will be done, ill be back after wipe for sure and probably as melee again  :)

well at start..
- lags at start of server made alot of players which wanted only to try it to RQ
- new players crying because of no tutorial (i was great map, i would like to see it implemented again with somehow solved lag problem !)

but it wasnt that bad, there was still high player base.. i have no idea why they quitted but i can tell you why i and bbs did..
mostly because of not enough content and no challenge we did get bored..
- when we (as BBS) was leaving we was last major active gang on AoP, when we was leaving there was completely no enemies anymore and we (as lawyers) was owning all zones for most of time (except night when occasionally vtechs had swarm), then wipe on FO2 came which completely killed AoP and we decided to switch to FO2 (we didnt even planned it but it was only alive server so only choice for us)
- back to no content..
i did get bored because only things i could do was ..
- assigment every 10 mins
- quick scavenge run or barter and craft during assignment cooldown or just afk
and this was loop which i was repeating ALL the time except during zone control
mining was like waste of time (except when it was bugged and possible to exploit)
you can still go ZC but .. 1. you need to have enemies 2. you need to have enough peoples which was usually big problem at last weeks before we leaved..
there was also 1 dungs, later 2 which was relatively easy and waste of time, always same, no interesting or time worth loot (except PA now but PA implementation was from our side seen more like negative thing then giving us motivation to do dungeon)
oh and there was also still less and less players scavenging in phoenix which ended in like every run same.. never interesting loot and no players

first month ZC was like..
17-21 hour braminboys swarm / rest cant do ZC because of being outnumbered
21-00 hour lawyers swarm / rest cant do ZC because of being outnumbered
00-?? hour vtech swarm / rest cant do zc because of being outnumbered
??-17 no ZC at all

later only lawyers and vtech .. i have no idea what happened to BB oO

there are much more activites on "classic" fonline servers like farming many different encounters in RT or TB, doing dungeons with interesting loot and pvp, town control, thieving, alot of quests, having smallscale pvp in pvp locations, mining/scavenging, events, trading with other players, joining events and many other activities via features

oh and then i have to mention that there was ofc some exploits and silly things (like kinkin spawning million caps, mining exploit with unlimited mining scripts which spawned too many mk3 armors and other things, then also exploit where you could sell items for higher price then buy at one of merchants and many others)
but i think that everyone expected this as its new server..

so yes, mostly lack of content as maykot said, i hope to see more options - things to do after wipe

i really miss AoP, i liked the server but sadly almost all peoples left, however big thanks to WR's group for those great actions

you can see opened doors in buildings = you can notice enemy going through building, other players cant
it also helps you to aim your FA easier, see loot in buildings and few other advantages

Basically if you like playing walking simulator - go BB base
If you like opening 1000 doors - go Vtech base
If you want balanced base go Lawyers or Family but don't complain when Lawyers team kill you because they don't like your robes or you're in their way when they go zone control.

i must agree that modules need some rework.. even when some peoples arent using them because it looks too complicated for them and they will just never make char with CH  ;D they are currently too strong, i remember Lidae saying something about changing them

and even when it may look like you have to invest alot of points into CH so you will be weak on some other SPECIAL, its not really like that because you can decrease your PE to 5 and use sight range module (+40 SR with 10 ch and 200 lead), you can decrease ST and use weapon handling, you can decrease AG to 1 as its almost useless and you got 10 CH very easily

also some examples of what you can reach with 10 CH..
MA + toughness + DR module -> 80 DR without adrenaline rush/drugs (MA also got high laser DR and normal/laser are almost only damage types used on long range..)
10LK + crit res module, 46 -> 66 critical resistance (so 10in 10lk sniper got only 42,5% chance to crit you instead of 67,5% -> muuuuch less effects and dmg from crits... or even more in support CA -> bb snipers)
+1 other bonus like sight range if you are dumping PE or critical strength -> immunity to KO/wpn drop etc..

aand even when modules are very strong its not true that everyone is playing 10 CH chars

Thats how i see leveling in AoP  ;D ;D
with good science and 3x dismantler you can science those spears for almost half of resources and continue
spears can be sometimes bought from weapon merchant npc, value of 3 caps/each so you can trade 1 AKs for 30 of them for example or you can craft them
metal parts, alloys, junk are tons everywhere
this way you can easily change your useless mp/alloys/junk to tons of exp

i think its because you are aiming to eyes..
your effective range graphics shows effective range to eyes but you cant hit that npc to eyes because its facing other side so its showing your hit chance to head

i completely agree, score is bad mechanic or at least badly calculated.. but it was said many times that ZC mechanic will be changed

for example its now even much worth to make tanks to protect your teammates because you are more giving score to other team then gaining and you also got nothing from it when playing that role compared to snipers which are topping in score in every ZC

similar with medic role or just healing other players.. not sure if its really bugged or just so bad but it gives very low score

some teams are also playing with tactic like get higher score then enemy and camp because of it

Yeah, and you got healed instantly by NPCs and didnt lose any of your things, and I did that to you because you are a team killer ( a real one that kills allies on ZC, not just messing around in HQ where there are no consequences to dieng)

So explain the other 10+ times or so that you tked someone in the city seki?  lets talk about that.
last time i TKed someone it was like week ago when 2 lawyers gangs fighted between each other because some ppls was thinking that greenthumb is scout blabla (not important now), GMs do remember it and i didnt even played in last 3 days..

why should i even answer to this topic, you are not GM and when you seen someone TKing then you should report it to them instead of typing bullshits about some players like me on forum, i didnt even touched you as you can see on video because i was warned many times before from GM team, i know what im doing and "Seki." isnt my character

btw when someone TK you then it doesnt mean that you can TK him instead of it you had to report it
now i can report you for killing "Seki."
