Just out of curiosity, what kind of pvp games do people mostly enjoy aside from fonline? 3 answers per user.

Mostly old cRPG like: BG, IcewindDale, Planescape Torment, Lionheart, Arcania and some recent oldschool like Pillars of Eternity or Wasteland 2.
Sometimes CS:GO and League of Legends.

Been playing OFP, Arma, Arma 2 and eventually Arma 3 throughout my younger days. Also, all strategy games by Eugen Systems: Act of War, RUSE, and 3 installations of Wargame series.

I play pretty much every genre of game personally. It really depends on my mood whether I play Burnout or Insurgency haha.
Generally though:
Ro2/Insurgency/Arma
Men of War/Civ V/ Total War
Mostly been playing GTA V recently though

Even though I have no cpu atm, my fav are :
RTS like SC2 (Toss 4tw)
MMORPG like DaoC, AoC, GW2 (WoW is gay pvp)
MOBA like HoN (DotA2 = casuals hello Matthew :P)
FPS like CS:GO (but I suck haha)

I'm super far behind on games that must be played, and restricted to consoles and lower end PC games.
Apart from AoP, I enjoy League of Legends (Lux mid, watch me wreck!)
I tend to lean towards single player games. I just started playing Call of Duty 2
I'm playing through the last of us...Again...
I don't think I ever ended my play through of Fallout NV. I keep coming back to that.
Some of my favorites...
Resident Evil (The REmake and 0 are best!)
Silent Hill 2-3 (1 is fine, I just struggle to look at it now)
This war of mine. Although short, I think its an awesome game.
Shovel knight! An awesome platformer.
Fallout 1-2 of course....And Tactics...Shhhh!
Stronghold, and Stronghold Crusader. Old Classics.
War Game : Red Dragon.
Also Making a play through of "Empires : Dawn of the modern world" An extremely charming experience. I recommend it for RTS fans.

HoN kept the deny xp loss and the gold lost on deaths from DotA1 unlike LoL.
When you deny a creep, not only the opponent will not get gold, but he will win only half of the xp if he's a ranged character, or 2/3 if he's a melee character (that's also why suicide characters are mostly melees)
When you die, you lose an amount of golds, slowing down your item progression.
This adds (compared to LoL) deeper tactics, for instance lane control characters are really efficient, despite not being able to engage or solo anyone, because they are very good at denying, cutting opponents' gold and xp. Also you can have plenty use of gankers even early on as they can focus totally on denying the opponent hard carry, so he will spent all the game dying and will have to spent left money to buy cheap items, slowing down his progression.
Also, compared to DotA2, it's much faster actions, animations and overall speed are faster, making the game more intensive. You can skip animations on most characters, but it can become very efficient on some of them. For instance, pyromancer (equivalent of Lina Inverse) will cast his 3 spells (stun -> wave -> ulti) in 1.4+1.4+1 = 3.8 sec if u queue up but if u skip animation it becomes 0.8+0.6+0.2 = 1.6 sec, so his burst time is halved. A lot of people dont like HoN for this reason, having to spam to skip animations in order to be competitive.
The community is as bad as LoL so no difference on that ::)
