Shangalar: /* List of Dungeons */

Inside Phoenix quarters, there are passages leading to dungeons. Dungeons are challenging locations where players can find great loot and fights.

Requirements
To be allowed to enter the dungeon, any group must fill the necessary requirements:

* Minimum 4, maximum 6 players must be tagged together.
* Every member of the group has to carry minimum a Tiers 2 weapon and armor.
* There is no level requirement for dungeons but a well thought preparation is advised in order to stand a chance against challenges awaiting inside.

Specifications
Dungeons currently available are based on different main specifications:

* There is only one entrance to a dungeon. Once a group has entered it, the door closes for 5 minutes until another group can enter again.
* Once you entered, there is no turning back. There are a few exits located at key points of the dungeons.
* The dungeon is an unique location. All players will fight in the same place and can encounter each other.
* Any dungeon is constituted of various rooms including different enemies and traps, requiring to set up strategies and pick up the right weapons for a maximum efficiency.
* Mob packs and loots are regenerated regularly, with time or as you advance through checkpoints.
* Sneak characters can go through (some parts of) the dungeon without affecting mobs respawns, allowing to check for other player groups.
* Several boss encounters are dispatched around dungeons, some are optional and some are not. A final boss encounter is proposed at the end of the dungeon, but it is optional.

List of Dungeons
There are two dungeons currently available. More will come with time, as well as new dungeon settings, potentially for fully PvE experiences.

* Phoenix Archives: located under Maryland Avenue, this creepy place is well known by Arizonian Wastelanders. It is said that distorted shapes are visible during the night around the old city administrative building.
* Hell Hole: the strange and heavy atmosphere dominating Paradise Valley does indicate something wrong around there. Who knows what's hiding under this former scientific residential area. This dungeon is a high level challenge for the most tough characters only.
Due to the changes in animation times, Pistols can shoot about three times as fast as they used to, making torso-spamming a viable tactic even in real-time.
There are two dungeons currently available. More will come with time, as well as new dungeon settings, potentially for fully PvE experiences.

There is no level cap in Ashes of Phoenix, however, after reaching level 24, the rewards for gaining further levels change. We call this the softcap.

* You no longer get any additional hit points.
* Perks you can select every third level come from a different list, and those new perks do not significantly affect PvP balance.
* You will normally gain skill points after level 24, but the use of these skill points is restricted. At level 25 and above, you can no longer use skill points to increase your tagged skills. Instead, these tagged skills are now the measure with which all other skills are compared. Primary skills can't be improved above the level of your primary tagged skill, and secondary skills can't be increased beyond the lowest of your tagged secondary skills.
<br>
Example:

You tagged small guns, first aid and leadership. At level 24, small guns is at 225, first aid is at 175 and leadership is at 150. Now, when you reach level 25, you gain as many skill points as you normally do, but they can no longer be used to improve small guns, first aid or leadership. You can improve your big guns, energy weapons and hand-to-hand skills up to, but not above 225, since that's where your tagged primary skill ended up. You can improve your throwing, traps, sneak and doctor skills, but only up to 150, since that's the lowest of your tagged secondary skills.

In other words, gaining levels after level 24 will not make your character significantly stronger, but rather more versatile.

The Family was established in Phoenix way before the rumor was spread into the Wastes. More than 20 years ago, they occupied an hotel at the East of the city, where nature was more generous. There, they made a lot of profit for a long period, hiding the source of their wealth to the travelers. Based on something close to south Italian mafia family values, Family members constitute an united group who considers honor and business as pillars of its organization. They have no second thoughts about weakness and take any occasion to wipe someone if the conditions are fulfilled. They also take any occasion to get rich and thus, all traffics are always considered legal. The prevailing motto is the ‘rule of the Smartest’. They consider their headquarters as a sanctuary that must be protected at any cost, and violence is prohibited inside. They can offer help if they can earn something out of it, but mistakes are not tolerated. Honor is considered essential and any offense will be washed in blood. There is no place for useless emotions among them, at least when interacting with the Wasteland. The Family is leaded by the Godfather, a mysterious charismatic man. With his henchman, The Right Hand, he dictates the rules of the Family, for the greater interests of its members.

Jim & Jack & Jo Lawyer Agency is the first faction which joined the city from the outside. Coming from the West a few years ago, this organization managed to break into a locked prewar high-tech facility. They settled down inside since then, calling the place the ‘Cradle of Justice’ and starting to increase their influence around the region. Lawyers, as their members are called, are organized around the Law, some ‘Codex of Behavior’ on which every new member swears allegiance and obedience. Relentless, often racist, against all form of debauchery, Lawyers are fanatics who believe they ARE the Law. No one can teach them any lesson as their arrogance is tremendously high. According to them, everyone who isn’t Lawyer is as worthy as common cattle. Nevertheless, hypocrisy is rampant among Lawyers. They are often the first to breach their own rules if it can bring them profit. They never recognize their mistakes, and look away on command. Only a few of them really believe in their own doctrine. For the others, it’s only a good way to dominate the weak and keep a noble face regardless of their actions. Directed by Jim, Jack and Jo, the New Lords of Lawyers, this totally corrupted and unpredictable organization kills at will, and most of the time with the ‘Right’ to do so.

Shangalar:

There are 4 main factions competing to control Phoenix :

*Jim & Jack & Joe Lawyer Agency

*The Family

*Brahminboys

*V-Technologists

In order to survive and be able to participate into the conquest of the city, you'll have to join one of those factions. After the tutorial, you'll have the occasion to discuss with all of them and make your choice.

Factions are living entities of the Wasteland. They're composed by a vast number of NPC's, including their leaders, important figures, merchants, assistants and guards, but most importantly by players, who will be proposed to play a major role in their evolution and impact their story and future.

All factions currently provide the same features and opportunities, though with time, they'll become more and more different. They also have a different background and personality, as well as different enemies and priorities.

*Every faction has a intimate enemy: Jim & Jack & Joe Lawyer Agency is the enemy of the Family, and Brahminboys are the enemy of V-Technologists. The hatred towards each other prevents intimate enemies to collaborate at all, and acting against your enemy will be extra rewarded by your faction. However, nothing prevents neutral factions to collaborate, if they wish/need to.

Joining a faction mainly unlocks access to their headquarters, a dedicated safe location providing multiple opportunities. It will also affect your reputation and of course, people with who you'll play.

Quitting a faction is always possible but remains a choice to consider with great care. Depending on your reputation with the other factions, you'll be able to join another. If you can't, you'll probably end up surviving alone, wandering in the Wasteland until an inevitable death, perhaps even perpetrated by your former comrades. Playing as a loner is a possibility that may or may not be developed at a later stage of development, currently it isn't advised.
