Proud creator of PL's ComLang.
=What is ComLang, you ask?=
It's a language for communication in the zone which relies on mixing two or more words to allow for quick transmitting of orders or reports, while also making them cryptic.
Taken mainly from the Clan ComLang of Battletech lore, ComLang can be a very effective tool if used in a squad. Think of it like a squad of players using slang for FPS games.

Here is the unabridged designations for ComLang below. More additions may be introduced.

Ack - Acknowledged

Aff - Affirmative (Mix with Ack to make Affack - Affirmative, order Acknowledged. Confirmation of order)

AsPla - Assault Player (Big guns, heavy armour, basically the tankiest guy you know)

BraBo - BrahminBoy

ComSil - Communication Silence (radio silence, unless through squad comms)

ComNow - Combat Now

EnSig - Enemy Sighted

Fam - Family

GodPla - Ingame Admin

Lanz - Squad

LW - Lawyer

MelPla - Melee/Spear Player

MulEnSig - Multiple Enemies Sighted

NumNegCon - Number Not Confirmed (you don't know how many there are)

QuesLat/Neg - Questions Later/Not available

Quiaff? - Question requiring a positive affirmation; sort of like adding "right?" to something. "These guys are some real assholes, right?" "They'll approach from north, quiaff?"

Quineg? - Question requiring a negative affirmation. "They aren't going to give up, quineg?"

ScavPla - Scavenging Player

Containers are ingame objects where you interact with them to take or place items. You can find them everywhere in Phoenix, and each will hold a wealth of different sorts of items from weaponry to ammunition to drugs. They will refresh occasionally, replenishing whatever stock they have in there, and deleting any items that have been placed in them by players.

You can also buy containers from NPC's in your faction's HQ - dropping them places the containers and they will stay there. Using the science skill will pick them back up.

Professor Lemur: Just adding some advice to the page.

All monsters have a limited amount of experience to give. Each shot you are empty that experience pool.

=Overview=

One of the first steps when entering the Core is to have a clear objective.
For example: you may want some extra equipment for your platoon, or maybe some components for weaponry/armour. As such, refer to the page "Scavenging The Core" for a definition of what you can expect in each zone in Phoenix.

If you plan on capturing zones, keep in mind that just one player will set off the Zone Control timer. It is always recommended that you are with at least two other players when capturing a zone. If you're a lone scavenger in a faction you will be running by a strict timer to collect everything that you need. Remember to use the sewers to stealthily visit each zone.

If you're still relatively a low-level player, it's always a good idea to take assignments. They will help prepare you for any combat you will get in the Zone, and will net you a fair amount of experience.

=Sewer Rat=

If you're a Sewer Rat (factionless), one thing to take note is that you will have no HQ to work with. Therefore, you have to think very carefully about the equipment you'll be carrying. Two weapons are recommended, and four is a maximum. You will also be walking target for all factions and even other factionless players if they're feeling particularly trigger-happy. Only disconnect when you're in the world map for extra caution.
Remember however, you can still take missions from other factions on the outskirts of their respective HQs. As it stands, there is only the Awareness quest - try to complete that quest as soon as you can, as the perk will be a massive boon.
