Allegra is the women in rags that gives you crafting blueprints (Not the artifact) to craft new weapons, explosives, or drugs. In order to get a crafting recipe, you need to have 1-2 artifacts. Each artifact has a different category. You can also donate artifacts you don't need to raise your faction's reputation. Each donated artifact will give 1k (1000) reputation.

Medium Machine Guns belong to the Big Guns skill and are mostly defensive weapons, with focus on multi-target damage and suppressive fire. They always shoot a full power rifle cartridge like the 7.62x51mm NATO round and are belt-fed with a magazine size of 100. They lack a single shot fire mode and instead have a primary full-auto mode and a secondary burst mode.

The full-auto mode has a lower spread and higher 1hex parameter than the burst mode, as well as a faster animation time. However, it is subject to deployment. While the full-auto mode seems to have a very high AP cost, it is actually halved after the weapon has been deployed by pressing 'D. As long as the player remains stationary, doesn't move and is not knocked back, the AP cost of the first firemode is halved, usually resulting in an AP cost lower than 50 which in turns means it can take full advantage of the lowered animation time typical for full-auto fire modes. The AP needed to deploy the weapon is specified as aim time in the full description of the weapon in the inventory screen.

The burst mode on the other hand is not affected by deployment and always remains at about the 65AP mark. It has a pretty wide spread and at longer ranges, more than 5 targets could be hit and suppressed simultaneously. The damage per target however, especially when taking into account the high AP cost and fast ammo consumption, is pretty weak and it is advised to switch to another weapon when there are not too many enemies grouped up or proper deployment to use full-auto mode is not possible.

John Porno:

Drugs are consumable items that alter a characters statistics for a set period of time. In contrast to Fallout, there are three different types of status-altering consumables: Short lasting drugs, long lasting drugs and food.

The major differences are that there is no permament addiction, meaning there are no negative effects once the drug's cycle has been completed once. All drugs also come with strong negative side effects, generally outweighing the positive effects.

*Strenght and Endurance gained from drugs will increase the character's Hitpoints
* Only one drug of each class can be active at a time, e.g. one buffout and one voodoo. It is not possible to stack two drugs of the same class or even the same drug.

Class A (long lasting)

These drugs last for 60 minutes and their purpose is to enable a character to better fulfill a role that it was not optimized for. As an example, a typical Big Guns build, made for close combat with low PE, IN and LK but high ST and EN can use Mentats, sacrificing its strenght in order to increase its long range fighting capabilities, gaining a noticeable boost to sight range and critical hits while losing defensive stats.

In general, these drugs come with great disadvantages and a true sniper will always perform better in a sniping role than a drugged brawler.
*Buffout
*Mentats
*Blood Moon

Class B (short lasting)

Instead of having 2 different phases of a high and a withdrawal, Class B drugs combine incredibly strong positive and negative effects into a 2minute long rush. This makes them highly situational and risky to use. Apart from Voodoo, which causes the player to be winded for 2 minutes after use, there is no cooldown on the drugs.
*Afterburner
*Psycho
*Voodoo

Food

All types of food currently apply a small boost to carry weight and Healing Rate. It is possible to eat up to 4 food items to stack the buff, however each slot has a separate cooldown of 20 minutes which can not be reset by eating more food.

It is important to understand that throwing weapons are not primary weapons. Spears and grenades are much more powerful than before but they are also more inconvenient to use. Big Guns include weapons such as Medium and Heavy Machine Guns, Miniguns, Flamers, Launchers and Anti Materiel Rifles. While each big gun has a unique playstyle, they all usually tend to focus on AoE (Area of Effect) or CC (Crowd Control) effects and are by no means better than small guns just because of their name. At the saem time, their use is much more specialized and it is nothing strange that big gun characters might often find themselves using small guns and weapons from other categories when they are not taking part in a coordinated Zone Control action, since big guns and their ammunition are expensive.

Pistols can be separated into 2 different categories, slow, heavy pistols like the 14mm Pistol best suited for targetted shots using crit-related weapon perkas on one side, and fast shooting "light" pistols like the Colt M1911 on the hand, best suited for targetting limbs or simply shooting the torso with a good rate of fire and preferrable a high base crit chance.
Due to the changes in animation times, Pistols can shoot about three times as fast as they used to, making torso-spamming a viable tactic even in real-time.

Shotguns are very powerful at close range against both groups and single targets. They can quickly deliver a lot of damage but also have small magazines that take long to reload. The behavior of shotguns is heavily dependent on the type of ammo used, which will be pronounced even more in the future.

The game simulates every single shot in a shotgun shell, with different ammo types having a different amount of "subshots". With ordinary slugs, a shotgun turns into a rifle while loading buckshot greatly diminishes the damage at longer ranges, especially against armored targets. To get the most damage out of a shotgun, one should try to burst smaller groups at around 20hex distance to make sure that as many pellets as possible can hit a target.

What shotguns lack is range, especially when it comes to single target damage, as well as sustained DPS as they oftne have to reload after a few shots. In the future, the right choice of ammo will be an important factor as well, turning shotguns into a risky but quite rewarding weapon if used accordingly.

Sub-machine guns or SMG's are one of the most situational weapon class since their effective range is strongly contested by shotguns, melee weapons and flamers. SMG's feature a full-auto fire mode and a single shot mode.

What makes SMG's unique is that their spray and pray weapon trait changes their burst formula, highly increasing the rate at which the bullets disperse over range while detaching it from the spread parameter. This results in high effectiveness at very close ranges, but a noticeable drop in damage with each hex of distance between the shooter and the target. Generally, an SMG use ris able to empty the whole magazine with about 100AP in one chain of short full-auto attacks. In order to achieve maximum damage, it is important to remain as close as possible. Similarly, someone who is being attacked by an SMG user can try to run away while under fire to reduce the amounts of bullets hitting him to survive the attack while leaving the SMG user deprived of both AP and ammo.

It is also worth noting that the MP5SD, silenced UZI and the Sterling L34A1 are sneak-related weapons and do not unlock their perks with small guns skill. They also have a different burst behavior to allow accurate ranged bursts rather than spraying the whole magazine from close diistance.

Sniper Rifles belong to the small guns category and have the highest range in the game, only surpassed by Big Gun Snipers which are soemwhat of a special case.
What separates Sniper Rifles from Assault Rifles is that they do not have selective fire capabilities, meaning they can not fire bursts. All small gun snipers apply bleed damage, often have their view range extended through the scoped weapon trait and also are much slower to fire, both in terms of AP cost and animation time.

As a rule of thumb, long range results in lower damage and vice versa. While the game itself makes no distinction, the snier rifles could be separated into two groups, slow firing, long range sniper rifles on one hand and designated marksman rifles or DMR's on the other, usually in the form of scoped assault rifles with a higher rate of fire and higher DPS, but less bleed and range.

In order to get the most out of a sniper rifle, it is important to take one's character build into account and the type of battlefield that will be fought on. With high small guns skill and all weapon perks unlocked, all snipers synergize differently.

Heavy Machine Guns belong to the Big Guns skill and are mostly defensive weapons, with focus on multi-target damage and suppressive fire. They always shoot a full power rifle cartridge like the 7,62x51mm NATO round and are belt-fed with a magazine size of 100. They lack a single shot fire mode and instead have a primary full-auto mode and a secondary burst mode.

The full-auto mode has a lower spread and higher 1hex parameter than the burst mode, as well as a faster animation time. However, it is subject to deployment. While the full-auto mode seems to have a very high AP cost, it is actually halved after the weapon has been deployed by pressing D.

Light machine guns are very similar to assault rifles and belong to the small guns category. What sets them apart from assault rifles and medium machine guns is the fact that they have the selective fire capabilities of assault rifles, meaning they have a single shot fire mode, while also having a burst fire mode to deliver sustained suppressive fire.

In practice, this means that LMG's have a single shot mode that is a bit slower than that of an assault rifle, but offers more range and somtimes more damage. Their spread and 1hex parameters sit between that of the AR and the MMG, making it much more viable to hit single targets with single shots rather than bursts. They have a low, but noticable chance of applying suppression as well, though it requires a skilled shooter.

Crafting
Crafting is handled via a dedicated screen called the Fixboy. It can be opened using the 'F' key.

* By default, all known recipes appear when opening the Fixboy. If you have the required components, items will appear in green. Otherwise they'll appear in red.
* To craft most items you'll need either a workbench or a chemical table. You can find those devices inside headquarters.
* When interacting with the workbench, only recipes requiring it to be crafted will appear in your Fixboy. That's the same for the chemical table.

The different recipes for each item follow a simple concept where any item that could be considered Tier 2 usually requires one special part and a number of common materials. The available crafting materials can generally be sorted into these different groups different groups:

Low Quality Materials
- Fibers
- Flint
- Junk
- Wood
These items are found everywhere, especially in random encounters. THey are mostly used for low-tier starting items and are only rarely required later on.

Common Materials
- Alloys
- Components
- Electronic Parts
- Metal Parts
These 4 materials account for roughly 80-90% of the materials needed in general crafting. As a rule of thumb, every Tier 2 item requires a mix of 3 items of this category, in varying quantity. Generally, a rifle with a wooden stock will require some extra wood to be crafted while energy weapons for example always require some electronic parts.

Special Parts
- Pipes
- Scopes
- Springs
Every Tier 2 item requires at least one special part to be crafted and special parts can only be found in the core and nowhere else, limiting their generla supply. Most weapons only need a single special part to craft and each weapons class usually has its own part, with assault rifles being crafting with Metal Pipes and Sniper Rifles with scopes. Generally, the crafting recipes are oriented at what is shown in the weapon's picture.

While the three categories of items account for 99% of the items needed in weapons crafting, there are also critter trophies and common supplies. While silver gecko pelts and deathclaw hides are both used in armor crafting, the former could be considered a "low quality material" while the latter is closer in value to a "special part"

Finally, each headquarters also has a dedicated merchant to sell oil, kevlar, chemical components and fuses. These are sold for 10 caps each and can only very rarely be found anywhere else. While fuses and chemical components are commonly used for explosives and drug crafting, oil is used to repair weapons while kevlar is used to craft and repair armors.

Blueprints
To unlock more item recipes in your Fixboy, you'll have to get blueprints from your faction.

* Blueprints can be unlocked in exchange for relics you obtain all throughout the Wasteland. Different tech trees require different relics.
* Getting a new weapon doesn't necessarily mean it will be generally better than the previous one. All weapons unlocked by blueprints/relics are considered Tier 2. The bottom of the tech tree usually contains average and more versatile weapons, while the top of the tree is made up of items that have a more specific role and require some more experience to be used effeciently. This does not mean however that any weapon is strictly superior to another.
* Relics can also be donated for a reputation bonus. They can not be sold directly though, unless another player is willing to trade.

Currently, there are 6 different Relics to be found in the core:
Technical Manuals - for Pistols and SMG's
Encrypted Holodisks - for Assault- and Sniper Rifles as wella s Shotguns
Blueprint Parts - for Big guns, Heavy Machine Guns and Light Machine Guns (LMG's)
Blue Memory Modules - for Energy Pistols and Rifles
Maps - for Melee Weapons and Spears
Chemistry Journals - for Explosives, Traps and Drugs

The engineering skill is the 4th support or non-combat skill and handles crafting and repairing.

Crafting
Crafted items are not automatically in top condition, instead, the engineering skill of the crafter determines the condition. (formula here)
Each time a tier 2 item, e.g. an item that requires a special part like a scope or pipe to be crafted, the skill will be raised by one point.
For more information on crafting, please refer to the Blueprints page.

Repair
In order to repair a weapon, the player needs 3 pieces of junk, one piece of components and one oil can, usually purchased from a vendor. Each repair restores a certain amount of condition-points which depends on the engineering skill, the base price of the item and finally, its tier.
For armors, the required materials are one piece of kevlar, three pieces of fiber and one broken armor of the same type. As far as the broken armor is concerned, an armor of the same material is sufficient, meaning that a Combat Leather Coat can be repaired with a broken Leather Jacket.
Each repair has a chance of 50% to raise one's engineering skill by 1%

- Scopes

Persuasion is the first support or non-combat skill and is a combination of the classic speech and barter skills. In contrast to science and engineering, its effects are mostly passive. Persuasion affects the selling price of a player's item, but not the value at which merchants sell their items. On top of that, the skill also factors into the Zone Control and quest rewards and generally increases reputation gain.
Persuasion is primarily raised through bartering with an npc.

he practical application of the Science skill, for fixing of broken equipment, machinery and electronics.

The engineering skill is the 4th support or non-combat skill and handles crafting and repairing.
