Show the sand robes some love!
« on: October 18, 2014, 11:56:37 PM »

shouldn't the sand robes give an increase to stealth and not leather armor? I mean there doesn't seem to be a reason to have sand robes but if it increased stealth then I'm sure much more ppl would actually use them including me ;) I don't see how leather armor (which is actually quite bulky) could increase stealth, but im just guessing they did that temporarily, or at least im hoping.

I know that there is a set of red, Purple, and black colored robes. I say the black should be some sneaker armor instead of the sand.

As for sand, it should give like +4 AP regent+ , sprinter, and brof since its so lightweight.  (My suggestion)

Sand Robes being good for sneak actually makes sense because it blends hella easy with the desert sand.

I always thought the sand robe would make a good "naked" sprite, but then the vaultsuit doesn't exactly look particularly useful so I don't see why there couldn't be a somewhat useful robe variant.

Maybe if there were 3 types, like with all other armors, crafted from the lower versions.

Linking it to stealth sounds cool too, but leather jackets already gives +25, surely it wouldn't give more.

I'm pretty sure that different colored robes are already in the game, they just aren't available yet. So fear not! You'll see them eventually.

Also, last thing I knew, leather armor just didn't give you a sneak malus when used, and it was leather jackets that gave you the sneak buff. Considerably less bulky.

Yeah, that's what I thought, unless im mistaken LJ, CLJ and CLC are +25 flat sneak, and LA LAmk2 and FLA give no modifier to sneak.

That difference in game is massive when you have a sneak at 190-200, I always though that was a very big gap (and a very large bonus in general from jackets), and that leather armor is not that different in stats (perks yes, but stats not as much) so you would think the difference in sneak from jackets to leather armor wouldn't be so huge.

Sand robes are tier 1 armors, it shouldn't be comparable to the other armors. Maybe a new type of robes can be added as a tier 2 armor (with the 2 upgrades), but leave the sand robes at tier 1

What about make it oriented to melee/close combat chars?

Deathclaw robe: An armor made mostly with deathclaw hides and reinforced with modern military materials. For some reason it makes the wearer to act almost like a beast
I won't suggest the armor stats but i have a clue about what kind of perks can have

Oriented to Close combat, so it will need to have some drawback for ranged builds
-Death sense: You get -2PE, but +3PE for detecting sneakers and bonus to detect traps. You can also fight without chance to hit penalty when blinded or disoriented
-Harder to heal
-Unstoppable: Same as quick recovery II (You recover 20% faster than normal from temporary ailments such as disorientation, suppressive fire and being winded).
-BRoF or Psychopath. only for mkII and mkIII
A speed boost it also needed for melee to catch fleeing enemies
-Death Rage: the low your health the faster you move (up to +30% move speed) and the harder you hit (up to +15 melee damage) Only for mkIII.

That all sounds like a bit much IMO.  Theyre still robes.
