Regarding Factions

I've been checking forum a little but haven't found info regarding faction balance. What I mean by that, is there some kind of system to balance the number of players each faction have?Because if one faction is overall more preferred ,then they'll be most likely more viable in pvp and in general terms. If there isn't such a system to prevent it why not implement it?Since you choose at creation of your character also your faction how about disabling the ability to join "overpopulated" faction. Not instantly at release but after some monitoring has been done.Something like all big MMO's do regarding their servers, basically so that we have a healthy number of players in each faction resulting in better rp/pvp stage and game experience in general.

We will first wait to see if it resolves naturally, which I think will happen. The next step would be talk to individual platoons, help them move at no noticable rep loss, kinda like those free character server transfers on WoW I guess. Only a last step would be to forcefully move people or close down a faction to prevent more player from joining it.
I do think that the players will have more fun with balanced factions and that it is in their own interested to keep that balance. Similar effects have been there on previous servers.

Ok that's great to hear, since healthy population on each side is that which will fuel game itself.

I don't think closing a faction is good enough, then you are just going to alternate, and you don't know how many of those players are just alts, or will actually stick around to play the game for more than a week. being able to transfer seems like a better idea, as long as there isn't too much double agent stuff going on.
Especially if I for example get to level 50, and decide I hate everyone in my faction XD
