Is it viable?
« on: September 01, 2014, 02:21:22 PM »

Hey guys, I'd like your opinion on something.

I read somewhere on a post that general all purpose characters will be more viable in AoP. This interests me greatly as I like to RP and dislike alts.

So lets say I did something that would usually be considered silly.
Lets say I put points into pretty much all skills until they were all say 100% and then put more points into my weapon skills, would this be viable here in AoP? or would I be a useless gear waster that drags down my faction?

I ask because I was thinking of RPing a Personal investigator or a bounty hunter, both of which in the real world would require a lot of versatile skills

One last thing if you can think of a good character to RP let me know

(Leave suggestions :D)

the jack of all trades master of none? it will prolly be better to master some and be mediocre on others. bye master I mean 1 or 2 skills the rest 100 give or take. if you read the wiki the lowest of your tagged skills is the cap you can maximize after level 24 if I read that correctley

short answer, being able to experience all aspects of the game while still remaining competitive in pvp is one of the primary design goals of this game.

its not worth to invest into all skills because you cant increase your tagged skills after level 24 and you cant increase your primary skills above tagged primary and secondary skills above lower secondary tagged skill but also differences between builds, level and gear are much lower then on other FOnline servers thats why almost everything is more viable

for example at start at level 1 you have ~200 hp, depending on your build
at level 24 you do have ~300-350 hp, its not 3x higher as before
another example.. Leather Jacket gives 40% DR, CAmk2 gives 50% DR

In addition to all of this, if you have above (I believe this was the number) 150 on any gun skill (such as EW) you can use any other weapon type (such as SG) as if you had 150 skill in it (for aiming purposes.)
This is important, because it means that you can have backup weapons that aren't your main build (like a BG'er, carrying around a shotgun because of the inevitable moment where you're going to have to undeploy)

The only reason to go above 150 with your main skill, is to gain access to all of the perks that make the guns more powerful.

So my advice, is just to make a strong build, as you will be able to use all weapons anyway.
