Evil Scientist just doesn't seem worth it as is
« on: October 07, 2014, 04:51:14 PM »

Perhaps if it dealt the extra damage when the trap was also set off, it might make it more appealing. But currently it seems to pale in comparison to say bloodthirst or watchtower in terms of usefulness and power.

Perhaps even removing the electrical resistance (which sounds like a job for a whole other perk anyway), and boosting the attempted disarm damage while adding some extra electrical damage to your traps?

Perk could lacks some mechanic explanation at the wiki, I didn't ask about full mechanic from devs when filled it up.

Damage is multiplied by your traps skill, and I think it's prime target is to desneak the player.

People don't usually even see my traps though, and I've NEVER had someone attempt to disarm one. I don't know but, I love traps and that perk isn't even slightly tempting as is, when compared to others.

Just did some testing with another player in game, who has evil scientist and 200 traps, and I was able to disarm his trap about 40% of the time with no issues. About 40% of the time, possibly less, his evil scientist perk kicked in and hit me (dealing damage in the teens every time). The rest of the time I would simply fail to disable without consequence.

I have 193 traps. It just seems like the small amount of damage dealt if someone even goes to the bother of disarming a trap isn't really worth it for most of a perk (5% electrical resist isn't really comparable to say the explosive resist of Dr strangelove as well), even for desneaking sneaks as it isn't guaranteed to even work.

I tested it about 10-15 times in total, and got shocked about 7 or 8 times, the highest was 17 the lowest was 12.

I'll try and find the other guy and get a screenshot or 2, but i think he went offline.
