It kind of reminds me of Fallout 3 :)
I had a feeling there was a little bit of Three Dog in his lines ;)

Actually this server is the most suited for RP, since:
1. Already faction-based.
2. No cliche BOS and\or Enclave, so create your own.
3. Loot\caps are not even remotely hard to get, so even if everything goes south, you don't lose as much as on other servers.
4. Game is still WIP, and will be for a long time I think. Which means that we haven't seen it all yet.

1: This point actually kinda reduces possibilities already and isn't better than BOS/Enclave you mention in 2. At least BoS and Enclave are Fallout lore, which I really miss in this installment, that is just not feeling like playing Fallout, but some other post-apo game. (Not saying it's a bad game, btw.)
3: What has this to do with roleplay?

Quote
And hey! What the heck, a bunch of Russians dressed in mantles with ak-s shouting "Allakhu Akbaru" wasn't enough for you? ;D. I saw people soil their pants when they saw that shit.
I sure hope that WAS roleplay. I would not want to play on the same server with any islamist pseudo-revolutionary fascist scumbags.
Assuming it is RP, then it is yet again another example for RP that isn't really Fallout lore. Could have very well happened on DayZ. Or Counterstrike.

Spoiler for No offense, really.:
I won't start being bigtime language/grammar nazi, but since you will probably use it in every upcoming episode of your broadcast when you say "...this is the Brazilian Slaughter, signing off" and it will probably drive me nuts. You might wanna learn to say the word "signing", which you make sound like "seening" or something:

Hit the "pronounciation" button for a recording of how to pronounce it.   :-X

This is why RP will never work. Not enough people with imagination playing.

My experience with RP in FOnlines so far is that many people have more imagination than they are willing to admit at first and offensive style of roleplay helps trigger it in those people and can result in a lot of fun. Sometimes.
Then there are of course those days it just won't get going and you can just go OOC and pew pew with them, which is also fun btw ;)

Saying RP will *never* work is too far fetched IMO. It's just a very, very, verry, VURREY tough environment for it. Don't give up.

Not looking at the crappy recording device, this is pretty good and a fun idea, so keep it up. Maybe add some music at start and end and it will just sound like a true radio broadcast – Brought to you by Family-Crack ;D

Fuck off, this is such obvious advertising
I don't think it is... He did that sort of event on FO2 with moderate success. The use of PokerStars is just a substitute for the lack of a comparable ingame feature.
Good luck getting it going and have fun, Jack.

(..)
My question again, why is this so random? Why not have it be a plain 10 or 25% chance? Instead you can be unlucky and get 1 point on 100 crafts and another rather lucky guy gets 50 on 100 tries. Just doesnt seem to make sense.

I wonder why it raises by chances at all and not just steadily increases with every skill use. As if FOnline wasn't enough of a game of chances already. :-\

Noone ASKED her name so far, the letters above her head say 'SubMachineGirl', but that's not the 'ill luck name'
Oh, right forgot the screenie:) Welp, my char's name is "Relentless Doc", which is of course just something "they" call him, he's in Lawyers but that doesn't mean shit to him, he just picked one of the factions without thinking much about it, because they were so pushing and didn't let him leave..
lol now I wanna start writing diaries too..
Anyway, count on it, he will ask your name. Unless you decide to shoot him first because of the Lawyer's badge and all..

Very enjoyable.
If your ingame RP has as much quality as these stories I'd love to meet your character some time – What's this girl's name?

(...) I enjoy pvp more than pve if it comes to multiplayer, but Fallout 1-2 was an awesome single player rpg and I seek an opportunity to have similar experience in co-op with friends.
(...)

I think TLA is closest to that at the time, for it is one of the oldest projects and therefore has the most content in terms of quests/ stuff to do.
The true Fallout feeling however is something you still have yet to find on all these servers... The transition from single- to multiplayergame generally is always cutting off some things that were great in single player but just can't be realized for multiplayer without opening tons of abuse/cheating possibilities. That results in such sad things like Charisma stat or gambling skills having absolutely no appliance anymore.
AoP is a completely new setting, so off lore it could be another game. 2238/Reloaded brings you the classic core region, but without alts it's a pain in the ass to play. FOnline2 is an alternative off-lore setting in the core region which has huge potential but still needs a lot more content. TLA I only played shortly and apart from having the most complex crafting system and actual quests that continue stories from the old games, there is also a lot of crap and absurdities in there, like those blood and gore horror scene maps etc. Dunno about all the other servers, some are in russian only, some have 20 players max a day, was never worth checking out for me. Desert Europe looked interesting, but again very off-lore.

Ok, seems fun, I go along with it:

KAM, age 29, neither black nor female.

ST: 02 (like a squid)
PE: 04 (I wear glasses and headphones destroyed my hearing long ago already. Tastebuds and smelling sense got wreckd by smoking)
EN: 03 (what do you expect from someone working at a desk all day and after work hanging out at yet another desk most the time)
CH: 04 (I'm shy, I hate new people, I hate large groups of people even more, but I can be charming when the need arises and the setting is supportive)
IN: 07 (Yeah. Above average but certainly no Steven Hawking)
AG: 08 (I am flexible. make of that whatever you will XD)
LK: 03 (Life is mean to me ...most of the time. Then there are these days, when I find a +7 LK implant that works for an hour or two)

Traits: Fast Metabolism, Chem Reliant  ;)

A realistic approach, I'm not that SPECIAL, so there are a few points unassigned ;D, I'm optimistic some stats will keep improving over time.

Suggestions / Re: Orientation
« on: September 10, 2014, 04:35:33 AM »
You are able to mark your map with a red X by right clicking on the map.

Use this to keep track of your position, or learn the area.

Good to know, thx.

We plan to add some street panels and such to help you orientate, but you will never have a simple marker of your position, as we actually WANT you to be able to lose your way in the city. The fact that it's even possible is a sort of achievement for me too, tbh, that proves it's big enough.

Understood.

On the other hand.. do we really want whole zones plastered with traps, because they are too easy to craft? Mind the balance here please if you shoould change the costs, dear devs.

Suggestions / Re: Zone exiting.
« on: September 07, 2014, 05:42:41 PM »
Definitely a no to removing this again. It's not like you can't keep chasing after people and corner them somewhere else. Or call some friends to catch the fleeing person from another direction.

Maybe only set the red exit grids to non usable while in combat. So people at least can't leave the city.

Sure, why not? Right now we got the faction bases that are pretty similar to what you describe, but some place as neutral trading/chatting/idling ground for all could be nice.
