Well, if you restared it...still says uptime 31 days and 7 online players.

If it's really about 7 chars in a no log-off zone: how the hell did they not get killed by anything in the last 7 days?
Also i would have assumed that logged out chars do not count towards the ''online'' count. Wether the guy is offline in a no log-off zone or in his base, he IS offline. If it's not the case, then it should probably be. It would solve that problem.

I just love how you Dev's and Mod's just keep circle jerking one another all the time.

People make suggestion or remarks something lame, and you all gang up on them like a bunch of flies on vomit. But have you ever adressed the issue?, exposed your point of view? Or even generally ACTED like you gave a shit? Not at all, all you do is call people names, laugh at them while rubbing each other's back. Pathetic.

Hummm CirnO or John.......when you guys DO come back to deving, patch stuff and wipe the server, im sure people will come back to AOP. But in the meatime, jacking up a fake player-count is both useless and insulting. Why would you have your players walk around in an empty world letting them believe they can find pvp?

For the past 5 days, there as been a minimum of 7 players on at all times...that just dosent happen.
And yes, i know the other servers do it too, aint no such thing as a ''steady 60 players'' at all times. But at least those server actually do have a few people playing. Saying you have 60 online when you actually have 40?......douchy, but acceptable. Saying you have 10 online when you really have 0? Now THAT is ultra-douchy and unaceptable.

Your right Stem, i AM horrible at trolling. Much better at inteligent converstations, but then again i would need another inteligent person to speak to. There is a definite shortage of that around, so im stuck trying to reason with a bunch of Ramons.

Back to the subject of this post: Organised pvp IS possible, and can be quite fun. We had some great small scale fights yesterday:2v2v2-3v3-4v4. It's really not hard to do when everyone is mature enough to split into even teams.

-A few die-hard fans still play.
-Only reason it got ''boring'' is because people ragequited waiting for bug fixes and new wipe.
- As newbie friendly as any Fonline server.....
- Lag is the same on all Fonlines for me, as for clunky maps and engines...whaaaat? maps and engine is what defines this server, and they both rock. (Aside from sneak mechanics)

Of course it was not only because of sneaks, they were simply the last drop imo.

And yes, as you said there was not that much to do to stay interested. Mainly because of free lvl 24, tech progression that was rushed and over-abundance of loot.

There was quite a few suggestions made to rectify those issues tho;
1- Go back to old tech progression system where you turn in holdisk/maps/modules to unlock progresivly better weapons. (More scavenging)
2- Raise prices of top tier weapons on faction vendors and dont make them lootable from bums and ghouls. (Those guns will feel much more valuable then)
3- Either return assignemnts but in-core, or have caps into faction money converter NPCs for x rate       (more options,more people in the core and stuff to do when low online count.)
4- Make sneaks into recons, dont make them contest zones, and remove the ~ZC option ( more people in core because they arent afraid of being murdered by ninjas, more swords symbols on the map= more people going in for fights.
5- This is made true by #4; Reasons to try to capture zones: You dont contest your own zones, so controlling the map lets you scavenge in peace and get warning when ennemies enter, along with NPC patrols on your side. It's also to establish your faction's frontline. (Currently people take one zone here, one zone there without any real long-term goals, they choose batlegrounds based solely on # of snipers/bg/melle currently in their group.)

If anyone can think of anything else, feel free to share your toughts. We might not be coders but we can still paint a clear picture of what the players think for the dev's when they come back from vacations. ;)

Well, i started play AoP in BBs on 1st session when there was 160 online, but i played no often and miss the moment when many players left. I dont know why it happened.

It really aint complicated....: In season 1 there was a good time where you would get insta killed for 600 damages from waki backstab by sneakers that appeared 2 hexes from you....took over a month to get it fixed so everyone left.

Here is how the ''mechanics'' of the thing works: Something gets OP/bugged-> Everyone starts using it: Some simply because it's OP, others to show everyone how broken it is.-> Dev's go: Well everyone is using that OP stuff, they must like it.-> After a while a lot of folks get tired of waiting for a fix and start leaving.-> Realising the server pop is droping fast, and having less and less people to fight, others start leaving until the server drops below 15 players.-> Dev's finally fix the OP/broken stuff and need to wipe server to get people back.

What killed the current season was partly the exploits/bugs followed by that ''should we wipe?'' poll...lots of people would have preffered if the server was just wiped clean from there and start fresh again since the wipe was still fresh.Then came the OP/broken stuff issue when technology was kicked up along with free lvl 24 etc. Then sneakers became the problem....people kept leaving and waiting for wipe.Now that we have less than 15 players, hopefully stuff can get fixed, server wiped and we can get back to playing a great AOP again. (We still had at least one week of amazing faction rampage action this season, just before too many had left and those sneakers became the plague of aop.)

P.S. For those of you who cannot find anyone to play with: 9-11pm forum time; that's when most of the action takes place from monday to thursday. Friday to sunday is pretty much empty.....

There is actually a lot more people playing during weekdays than the weekend. On fridays server is mostly deserted, everyone goes out and gets drunk.

Right, effects instead of mass-damages would be the way to go imo, as i said it should be about playing smart and chosing the right moment to act. And yes finishing woundeds or ganging up on one pvp should also be possible, but not outright 1v1 them.

Totally agree with that, but the current problem with sneakers makes it somewhat impossible to trully play as a sniper. The whole concept of long streets and larger maps fields/buildings was so everyone could be of use. When your team advance you can stay behind with sniper, and cover the others while checking for ennemy movements around you, but since sneakers can be anywhere and insta-kill you.....you just stay with the group. Same reason we mostly see toilet control and people camping inside a building....only way to avoid being backstabbed by sneaks.

It also kills all hope for small scale fights/ scavenger fights etc.....It's because of sneaks that we now have the ~zc function.....wich people use to remain invisible on core map. So no more scavenger fights, and nobody will show on map unless they are starting ZC....As a result, bunch of people being bored seeing nothing to do and they leave. Sneakers just seem to defeat the whole purpose of the server right now.

As for sneaking armor penalty......currently you get -30 for bluesuit. And -0 for CA/MA....definatly gotta change lol.

You clearly dont know how sneak and wartime works… and here you are claiming you know how to solve sneak… (That change was aiming to reduce sight of sneakers and harsher penalty for not being in wartime mode)

And stalker, i haven't agree with most of the changes done of sneak. I was against heavy armors used by sneakers and think that non sneak weapons should have harsher penalties. Sneaks should be mostly limited to leather armors and sneak weapons. (So yeah probably im retarded for not being able to make some idiot like you not understand that)

Are you talking to S1man or Ramon?  ??? Cause their are the only ones that believes sneaks should not be limited in their gear.

If that happened, there would be fun for everyone and balance between sneaks and fighters. It was like this for ages in Fonline and it always worked, why try to fix what's not broken? Sneakers fight other sneakers to deny the info they would send their team, while trying to stay alive to keep sending info to their own team....Sure they can backstab and finish wounded soldiers if they want, but not head on attack a full health soldier. It's all about doing the smart moves and chosing the right moment etc. Veteran sneakers probably looks at AOP sneaking and lose interest seeing how it require little to no skill/smarts at all.

4-Maybe with max PE, max charisma, four eyes a x8 scope and sight range modules + hawk eyes.....but then you only see in a thin stripe in front of you and barely anything on the sides, how the heck are you suposed to find a sneaker that way?
