With the intelligence gathered from the somewhat spontaneous tdm event yesterday, we will fix some issues and run it again properly next saturday at 9pm. The armors and weapons will be tweaked, proper ammo and perks added and other stuff.

Aside from that, rather than having to put up with me trying to decipher the log and porting everyone, it will now be possible to use ~joinevent and ~endevent after the event location has been created. The former will teleport you into a waiting room on the event map to speed up the whole process wile the latter will strip you of all items and scripts and allow you to leave the event without GM help.

The automatic squad formation will also be gotten rid of and replaced with a simple team vision so there is no need to drop and rejoin squads for the squadvision anymore.

I will post a small changelog with the detailed changes to the event items in the next days (probably at 8:59, rite)

I am NOT being selfish here but I think Sunday is a better day for server population etc.

Saturday is better. There're russians playing and they are 2+ hours later than server time, and they have work in the Monday morning.

I see no reason not to do it on both days, theres not really anything stopping that. I just wouldnt change an already announced date just because some people suggest it, cause I believe that pissing off those who might only be able to be here on saturday is not worth it.

Event was alright...only thing that annoyed me that AK47 was too strong and had no sound.

Every time I just saw my HP drop and was like "wtf is hitting me"

also the Kar was a pain, you shot and hit reload which actually reloaded (waste of AP) instead of unjamming :/

I would agree, it was a fun event yesterday and I am looking forward to another round. I think most of the weapons (SGs at least) were complete crap other than the AK and the BAR, but it was still good. The fact that the AK had no sound made it even more OP imo, because noone knew when it was being fired.

In the first match on tuesday, the balance was pretty much the same, in fact, the AK had only 10 instead of 20 inaccuracy but noone used it with everyone jumping at the bar. Now that everyone already had the 50range bar, there was no way to use 30range of AK effectively against it, not without just running in dying as everyone does on TDM with respawn anyway.

Yeah I recorded, you can see how the Kar jam BS was and overpowered AK with no silencer but has a silencer :D

Should have turrets to protect spawn.

Constant smoke over the spawn might help with that. Or dynamic walls.

Turrets should be sinlgeshot.

All the events always progress as we go along. There was some spawn camping in different configuration of number of teams and spawnpoints, but we were able to iron that out a bit.

One thing we noticed was that doing 4 teams is not so good because it turned into two separate 1on1 fights and I think the best way to do it is 3 teams to keep it somewhat flexible.

One common mistake that happened in every event with respawns is that if you dont move out of your spawn and camp in it, you will naturally be spawncamped so while the system itself doesnt prevent spawncamping, the players are also partly at fault for half of them being semi afk in the first minute.

Indeed, the protection of the spawn shouldn't cover a too large chunk of the map.

Well, it could be one or more turret, inside a building that have four entrance or more.
You could still ambush some doors, but not all doors. On the other hand, if you enter, you would be blasted by turrets. If the spawn point is outside, you could use fix smoke.

On the other hand, if players stays too long in the building/spawn area, the turret might get broken (or attack the players inside) or the smoke vanish. If enemies shouldn't campspawn, the players spawned shouldn't camp here either.

I don't care it is single/burst shoot. The point isn't for helping the players to defend the building, but to prevent the spawn point for being a deathtrap for newly spawned players.
