I had an average ping of 400 in 2238, based on that what could i expect it to be in AoP.

Probably the same, I'd say, depends where you live. Our server is hosted in Paris. I know FOnline: 2238 staff had it hosted in France too for a time, and I was told ping was pretty good for people living in America back then. Then server moved to Berlin if I remember correctly, and after that it wasn't overall that comfortable anymore.

The server is hosted at Online.net at Paris.
You can start to test ping on ping.online.net, you will not get lowest ping than that.

As you look to be in Australia, ping between Paris and Sydney look like to be around 320ms according to this site (https://wondernetwork.com/pings).
So adding ping to reach Sydney and latency of the server, I'm afraid you will get again 400ms ping.
