Title: Adding boosters at bases
Post by: S.T.A.L.K.E.R on September 14, 2015, 04:19:46 PM
so pretty much like things you see in racing games where you drive over them (https://youtu.be/OGm5mvZ_MGI?t=60), you speed up for a while.

But something like that here in AoP so people can get around faster...especially in bases like Brahmin Boys.

So I'm suggesting every base is littered with hexes that will boost your Run speed by 5.0, for temporarily of course.

just add another grid next to rooms/bases so you can fast exit to world map

this would cut down so much downtime

Might as well delete the headquarters entrance  ::)

I like STALKERS idea, but it will obviously have to be deactivated if enemies attack faction base.

I also like the idea of a gathering room, which can only be entered by a squad (leader first ov) to cut out people counting numbers and gear before an operation in the core.

I like it.

I suggest placing the hex's inside doorways and corridors along the normal exit routes. To ensure the player runs over them.

But why not just give player a fixed speed buff while inside HQs? Or make it a high level perk like pathfinder?

"it will obviously have to be deactivated if enemies attack faction base." - This too.

If i could run 10 hex/s in base, there's no reason why i couldnt run same speed in core

Just like caboose said, make a new room; which is instanced per squad that you can enter from your room/from platoon base. Faster way to get to the core AND prevents multilog abuse to spy

Will do more bad than good to be able to access WM from room/base.

Interaction between vets and new players takes place because of having a shared space. If you make a VIP exit you will segregate those even more (already happens because of squad chat, but that's a necessary evil). This is undesirable.

I suppose other people with no sense of humour might pull the same face indeed.

legit point, but if new players want to ask things theres always factionchat

If that was your attempt at humor then that was just terrible :o

Also these hexes will probably be fun to do some racing tournament. Just imagine a group of 5 racing from point A to B and they're both running and trying to kill each other  :P maybe not kill but pullbacks and knockouts xD

You can't insist on using faction chat or forum for new players because they might encounter sralker there
