I would really like to see something that you can throw or drop to the ground and protects you from enemy fire. This would be good to revive someone or while rushing an enemy have you have to heal. I suggest to cost 200 AP so you can't do something right after deploying it. Also the shield should have 300-500 HP so it can be destroyed.
Also very weak to explosive damage, like AP rockets break them :P
Maybe it can be crafted with ceramic plates and power armor fragments. other shit too :P

Nobody strong enough to carry portable walls
an idea ive been spouting in the irc since forever would be anomalies like in the stalker series but at least partially controllable by the players
for example a mobile bulletsponge:

pls i just want MAGIC

Well making use of a "cover" system is a much better idea IMO. Just make the item that person uses\holds in active slot\equips instead of armour to provide "cover" with some bonus parameters. (lesser hitchance, lesser crit, more AC etc.)

Already in the works.

> Nobody strong enough to carry portable walls
if you're able to carry anomalies, I'm pretty sure there're not more problems with the walls

Graphics needed??
I can try!

My preference would be more like a metal riot shield, rather than an energy wall.
Cuz I keep getting Halo in my mind.
Or would it be more like a grenade when dropped expands into (Energy field) cover?
When I saw the words "Deployable shield" this is what I saw in my mind....Momentarily.

I've thought about force fields from SC2 ><.

First thing I thought when I read force fields was blue walls covering the doors of poly during ZC. Not that I want this, but interested.
