Title: Stop Buffing Npc's , it hurts small scale pvp
Post by: Artificial Emotion on September 17, 2014, 11:21:48 PM
1 man to 3 or 4 , anything not swarming is hurt by these changes. Sweet you fixed Npc patrolling a bit , but then you add fire geckos and death-claws and other high teir npc's inside buildings. For a pvp oriented game Npc's are a bit broken. I cant scout or look into a building without being insta wtfpwned by anything. Please tone down the npc's in the core.

NPCs are a part of this game, why shouldn't they be a party-ruiners in pvp? Go play some CS if you wish no1 to disturb your sick killing spree.

I don't mind NPC's but I do mind them insta killing me when I load into a new zone....Imagine you step onto an exit grid to go to next zone only to find your dead body on the other side with NPCs stood over you.

Very cheap and very annoying.

Im all for NPC mobs and stuff but as Stem Sunders said, they are very cheap.... having them spawn ontop of you or walking into a room full of them is painful.

Walking into a room full is ok, that is fine IMO, but yeah the loading screen dead thing is annoying, kind of hard to completely avoid when players will always be dragging mobs to the grids for getaways.

Other than that the buffs were needed for a lot of the npcs, especially the critters and DCs.

The Insta spawning death mobs of death have now been revised and it should apparently happen less often.

Have any of you ever played TLAmk2? There is a random encounter in "red zones" of the global map. Where you could be forcefully drawn into an Enclave Patrol. The only random encounter that didn't allow players to load, usually you were loading in your smoking corpse, that happened even when you had 2-3 people with Power Armours equipped.
That feature was fun to say the least, strangely enough I find every hardship in Fallout games extremely fun. 'Ts like Dark Souls to me all over again.

I dont mind things being difficult :P i just dont like the game auto-killing me in a way that that is based purely on luck.

Agreed, as fun as Myakot may find it. It is a bad design, one that I thought was sort of immersive at first (You never know what's around the next corner) but as I said before it became very cheap and annoying. However its hopefully a little less frequent now none the less.

I hadn't any problems killing NPC having 3-4 guys with me.
Meaning with 6 guys doing zone control NPC is not a problem until you meet NPC and the other faction in the same time.
That's where you can show your outdoorsman skill!

Needs moar revising.

Yesterday we were in the General Hospital in a band of six or eight when suddently a lot of Primary Centaurs and 900 HP Super Mutants with lasers spawn in corridor behind my back, with people on it, taking everybody by surprise. Result was pretty much a TPK because of teleporting super mutants.
