I think it would be nice to make it so the sector you are currently in is highlted in the automap, maybe just a bright border around the rectangle. So you can see what sector youre in if you havent memorized them all yet

I still get confused as to where I am exactly. I've taken to using landmarks but a quick hit of the tab key to see where I am would be nice.

"We want you to get lost in the city."
But there's workaround for it. Find a squad.

Yeah, devs straight up said they want you to get lost in the city, it makes them feel proud of how 'big' it is ::)
But you will learn the areas in time, and also if you click on one of the zones there is kind of a little map there, and you can compare it to the buildings around you if you are 2nd guessing yourself.

Yes, self location and maybe squad member locations would be very nice to see on the cheapboy automap.

The thing I though about is ability to see players if they have the radio and same frequency as you on the map like devs can see players.

How about a text that says "You have entered the eastern square " but in big white letters something like this

That's much better than the initial idea. Making a freaking marker on the map which will tell you your location breaks the atmosphere as well as logic. (What are you using? Satellites?)
