The .223 pistol
« on: August 02, 2015, 09:04:06 PM »

Today, confident I could make the .223 work in ZC, I made the mistake of thinking exactly that. I went to the core, ready to pop some caps in unsuspecting enemies, when me and a friend found some. They managed to overrun us in a 2v2 because it may have well been 1v2 with me using the pistol. I was doing anywhere from 18-30 dmg with torso shots, and not much more with the mozam headshots. Add this to the fact that it takes insanely long to reload doing it single shot ( in combat, reloading in firefights is what Im talking about), extremely high AP cost per shot, it seems to me a particularly useless weapon atm.  The biggest problem with it is the shell loading and the damage. .223 is supposed to be armor piercing, yet I was doing near nothing to armored opponents.  My suggestion is to make the .223 magazine fed and decrease the AP needed to shoot it slightly; or give it a slight damage boost to make up for its crap ease of use.

I could be using this gun wrong, as I am a spammer, but it has crit strike on it. Crit strike is exclusively a spam perk. It also has a lot of super-duper critical perks, which is weird considering it's supposed to be a spam weapon. ATM there isn't a reason to use any pistol but the Needler or 14mm ( maybe the .50 deagle), I would very much like there to be.

Am I just a noob? Or is there actually something wrong with this weapon?

Nope, it's completely weak and useless. Ya you score high armor bypasses around 66%....but the critical damage is extremely weak. Also I've rarely crippled courier when I tested it on him.

I'd say change the damage to a little higher than the 14mm since your reload 1 by 1

Also this should of been in lobby :P

I tried the colt out, I dunno man. Seems too low dmg and not enough bullets before reload.

Really the only viable pistols (for regular SG people) are the 14mm, the .50 Deagle, and MAYBE the S&W speedload. Say what you want about the S&W, if you need a quick backup and have mozam + brof, it's a good little pistol for KOs in a pinch.

Tried creating a crit build, and the .223 still sucks dick through a straw with the abandon of a starving hooker.

Colt will be alright if it got more bleed bonus...like the deagle.50 but the deagle doesn't need a stun grenade thrown before like the colt does.
