- Remaining stealth time can be seen on top right now
- Range of HBD now depends on Traps skill: each 10% of the skill after 100% will give you 1 hex of the range on top of 20.

Hey guys,

Since I defibbed the server, there have many game-play changes that have broken all semblance of previously known balance and to be honest, it is not in the production schedule to fix these balances for the current session. Although I've made changes to items, the changes were not intended to balance but rather experimentation, mostly all the development focus is on the next session. But you guys are awesome and I wouldn't want to leave the players to their own devices after screwing everything. Everyday I am surprised by the player count still.

I can't spend the time on doing it properly and many of you have a better sense of the current state of the game. I'll use this forum section for change requests. Here you can battle it out, come up with solutions and attempt to reach consensus for the game balance changes you want. It will help me help you guys out.

Mention the specific items and specific changes, the more specific the better.

Here are the list of weapons , armors and ammo data in the form of XML, you can open it up in excel or any spreadsheets.

Fixes:
- Allowed fast loot / drop in locations of faction HQ. Now for real.

During this it logs amount of all alive critters in 30 hexes around. Using engineering skill on item will reload it, science will print out detailed info.

New Character Perks
Level 15
Venomous Hands: All your melee attacks will inflict poison.
Rapid Setup: Deploy times are faster through rigourous training, the Action point cost of deploying is reduced by 33%.

Level 24
The Impaler: Like Vlad, you have taken a peculiar interest in the art of impalement. Your spears now pierce multiple targets, assuming they line up properly.
Commmando: Proper training and understanding you've adopted the art of dynamic carbine. When performing targeted bursts with an assualt rifle, only the target will be hit with the bullets.
Street Samurai: You are able to switch between 1 handed weapons without interuption and while moving.
Hail Mary: You adapted the gambit lifestyle of going fast and dying young. Bursts with Spray and Pray weapons are more likely to land more bullets.
Grenadier: Grenades are no longer removed from your hand when thrown but AP cost is increased by 50.
Simian Warfare: You are able to take aimed shots without delay using a sniper rifle while at full Action Points.
PMS Defense: 10% of combat damage taken is converted to bleed damage.
Lazer Rifling:  5% increased to your hit-chance cap.
Ballistics: You are adapt at timing your shots and leading the target, your weapon projectile speed is increased.
Gun Turret: You are able to remain deployed even after a knockdown or knockback.
Trick Shooter: While using pistols, your aimed arm shots will send the weapon flying out of your victims hands instead of crippling them!

Level Not Finished Yet:
Berserker: Each time you are shot, your running speed is increased.
Rambo: You can walk while deployed costing 10 AP/hex.
Shotgun Surgeon: You are able to cripple targets without prejudice while using a shotgun. Instead of knocking back the target, you will now inflict crippling blows.

Ammo Revamp [ Work literally in progress ]
- As per addressed in http://fonline-aop.net/forum/index.php?topic=2262.msg17934#msg17934
- Ammunition now can have up to 3 damage types.

Examples:
 a HE Rocket (100% Explosive and 50% Bleed) hits a target for 200 direct damage, the target also suffers a extra 50% of that 200 direct damage as bleed resulting in 100 bleed damage ( total 300 damage ).

-Bleed damage changed to be based on AMMO / Weapon. Ammo with 20% bleed shot out from sniper with another 60% bleed = 80% bleed.
-Bleed resist now reduces the RATE of the bleed effect.
-Bleed rate ticks are 1 + log10( 1 + (BLEED_RESISTANCE] / 10 )) seconds;.

Armor Deterioration
- New model of damage done to armor's, generally made them deteriorate much quicker.
- A 0% condition armor now will have  negative effect of -10DT and -15% DR ( Placeholder )
- The armor value degradation will have effect below 70% condition.
- Repairing has been boosted and the chance to lower the item quality when repairing is less ( halved ).
 
Added commands:
- if ~noreloadmode activated, it will skip reload mode while typical cycling through weapon modes
 
Added hotkeys:
- Pick Up Screen - hotkey A for Take All.
 
All actions involved left mouse click require the pointer to be default (arrow) for applying  (one which shows item description).
In some of the cases after the first click same action will be applied to each item under pointer: to avoid it use right mouse click or left mouse click not on the item.
 
Inventory and PickUp screens:
Can apply engineering and science skills to items: press 7 or 8 and click an item.
Can reload and unload weapons: press 2 or 3 and click an item.
 
All item screens: added item filters.
The filters won't drop without CTRL+Q hotkey! Use with caution, do not forget!

News & Announcements / Server Service Interruption and Happy Holidays!

Hello everyone!

New Server Status: Frosted Igloo Server

Our current service provider for our game server OVH is no longer supporting windows operating system which means they will be unable to run the AoP FOnline server. Unfortunately, I have been slacking off on that department and have not come up with a suitable provider use so the server may go down for a extended period of time. So the estimated time of service interruption may be 0 to 1 month, for that I want to apologize to the few players still playing the game! A big issue currently is that I live in North America. While I can setup a server local to me, it is not so great for most of our player based in Europe and I have no idea which companies there are in Europe or Russia. Perhaps I should of seriously asked for help earlier! 

To dispel any rumors of AoP being dead, well personally, I have no intention of quitting, we've been working with a small staff since launch and we've done a reasonable amount of work with what we had. The holidays have really kept me away from AoP which is apparent by the lack of weekly updates we've been doing since the launch. Furthermore, we've been working on multiple larger features which I've briefly spoken about in random parts of the forum. I'll go into detail about them in the dev corner when it is rolled out.

Finally, I want to thank everyone that gives a damn about what we've done and are doing! You guys are awesome and clearly have great taste :^).

Developer Corner / Time to kill

I'd like to discuss the state of the game regarding the time it takes to kill in AoP combat.

First aid, superstims and healing rate in conjunction with the very high armor values have resulted in unintended supermen which are able to sustain a lot of fire.
Currently, you either bypass or  find the weapon with the most hit the gaps / best AP modifier for ammo when dealing with normal damage. That's an mistake on our part.

Within now till the next season I'd like to implement these changes to address to the design:
- All normal damage type weapons will be applying bleed damage that is determined by the Ammo. Each ammo will have a direct damage % as well as a bleed %.
For example ( Really just an example, numbers are emphasized to make a point ):

JHP ammo : 80% bleed,  70% direct  ( 150% total )
Ball ammo : 50% bleed,  70% direct, -10% DR, -4 DT ( 120% total )
AP ammo : 80% direct, -30% DR, -10 DT ( 80% total )

- Reduce normal resistance of armors by ~ 20% as that damage will be mostly converted to bleed.
Generally the goal is to increase lethality without pushing it towards instant kill scenarios.

I feel the change to the armors and ammo values will increase viability of a lot of the weapons that are currently short changed due to lack of armor penetrating abilities. Also gives me more methods of making weapons function uniquely and ultimately fun to play.


Combat Healing:

Healing in combat is under a fine scope, and I don't have a particularly strong opinion on it as it is both important attribute to sustaining longer fights. But it is sometimes over the top when healing rate + first aid + super stims are involved. I would like some feedback regarding this. Bandage % is already in consideration for a increase in length, while moving food healing rate buffs to recover from banadaged state faster. I am also entertaining the idea of losing max health points that is only recoverable slowly and not stim / first aid able ( say 20% of damage taken is hard health damage that will recover at X per minute ).  This way, a failed assault no longer feels like you did absolutely nothing to the opponent but rather you've drained them of bandage, which buys time, as well as some hard hit-points.

These changes are geared towards the outpost fights which we want to last for around 1 hour, and eventually exhaustive HQ fights which would be fought with immense attrition.

Bug fixes:

Tweaks:
-Throwing grenades from utility slot while moving now more responsive

The further the target the less LIKELY bullets may hit but CAN be possible. So I put the pray into spray n pray ( RNG bullets! ).

Just a small one. The reputation stuff is a primer for more changes regarding the reputation system.

Changes:
- CTF Flags no longer have collision
- CTF EXP reduced ( The exp reward was only temporary till the advanced faction system is setup )
- Removed reputation requirements for platoon invites / entry into the heart
- Removed reputation trade for relics

More ZC Revamp!
- Score gain rate scales with conflict size
- Zones now take 3600 points AND no enemy presence to capture
- Gain 1 point per person per second (Max 6 / second)

Bug:

Changes:
- Zone Captures no longer display which factions are present.

Addition:
Capture the flag [ W.I.P ]

4 flags that will spawn randomly at these locations:
Maryland, Warmart, Hospital, Sun City and Paradise Valley

-Objective is to capture all 4 flags for your faction and hold all of them for 3 minutes.
-Once you grab a flag, it will change into your faction's flag.
-You have 2 minutes to carry the flag to a safe location.
-After the 2 minutes, it will automatically drop onto the floor.
-You cannot pick up flags that are your own faction.
-You may carry as many flags as possible.
-While carrying the flag if you leave the surface core maps, the flags in your inventory will reset.

-When a round ends there will be a delay between 3~6 minute before a new set of flags are spawned.

We're gonna try port 4000 again, hopefully no DoS attacks.

Bug:
- First-aid and Doctor targeting has be re-enabled, crashing bugs fixed ( please report any problems )

Changes:
Beginning of the ZC Revamp!
- All zones now capturable (minus the gates)
- Zones Captures automatically begin when enough faction members are present to contest the territories.
- Timer is removed when opposition arrives, it is a fight to the death now.
- Uncontested Zone Capture time brought down to 10 minutes.

Bugs:
-Fixed a bug where Molotov/incendiary fire sometimes doesn't burn people.
-You can finally inject others with stims via putting stims into your hand slot and clicking the inject button and then the target. This changed for SuperStim, Bandaged and Tourniquets as well. ( Will make it so you press A to activate sometime later, I promise! )
-Fixed a sight glitch involving doors in Polymer Lab.

Tweaks:
-Doubled ZC rewards ( Until we completely revamp ZC system, more info on this later )
-Poison now reduced to -27 healing rate but healing rate bonus from food & leadership is no longer in effect when poisoned.
-Unpowered Power Armor unable to get movement speed boosts.
-Diminished returns of CHA on receiving leadership buffs (50% less effective at 10CHA : 20DR => 15DR)

Additions:
-First aid [5] and Doctor [6] hot-key now highlight all players with contour. They can be targeted through view obstructing obstacles with ease now. You can probably use it to defib people dead behind walls/objects as well where they would originally be blocked. ( Tomorrow I will add a hotkey to display all corpses so you can loot bodies behind walls as well ) ALSO does this if you have medkit/doctor/defib in util slots and press your utility key.

-Mustard Gas grenade added and available in vendors

-Holdout [W.I.P]   
This is a new location on the WM currently up for testing.
It is a wave based event location that is part of the tier-3 item progression.
Its susceptible to PvP.
First one currently located at 750 750 on the map.
Meant for teams of 6, 12 and 18.
Enter at high risk!

Basic Bounty System[WIP]:
You will gain 1 bounty every 15 seconds up to 40 bounty.
On death you will lose all bounty and be set to -200 bounty.
Your killer will be awarded 1/2 of your bounty if not the same faction.
You will gain experience based on your bounty and target's bounty.
There is no cap to your bounty gained from kills.

-Added scope perk to scopes. You can now hold scopes for sight bonus.

Obtained via Epic Loot vendor in your faction base for 20 power armor fragments and 4000 caps
Or via Power Armor Salvaged Kit (Currently only drops in last boss of Hell Hole dungeon) [80 metal parts, 80 components, 80 alloys, 6 polymer, 6 ceramic,  15 power armor fragments]
Drop Kit on floor and use science / Engineering on it.

Pros
-Un-critable
-Ammo DT mod is ignored
-Knockdown and Knockouts converted to Winded
-Suffer only 1/3rd Bleed

Cons
-6 AP Drain per second
-Takes 200% bullets from bursts
-130 KGs
-2x Harder to Heal
- -1 PE
-2x Malus rate of fire

At 0 hp, you are dropped out of the Power Armor.
