So now that 2238 is dead... and we only got tla mk2 as option, I was wondering if AOP could soon be another option?

Yes, AoP will be an option, but only in a couple of months. We are definitely going to open the server this year, unless half our team hets hit by train or something. Under best circumstances, an open beta sometime in august would be possible. Depending on some team member's availability we would have to postpone that a bit, but right now we are concentrating our efforts in a way that  even if worst comes to worst, we can still release something playable and enjoyable.

How you will catch players from 2238 ? Some can gone from FOnline, some can go on TLA mk2.

All of the 2238 gangs are represented on tla to some extent. As member of tttla and crazy88, we still have contacts with at least one person from each gang and they contact the rest to get a good playerbase for a start. Aside from that, when it's the time we will properly advertise AoP on the new 2238 board as well as on tla's. In the end, it will be word of mouth, players telling other players about this server. We are also talking to a couple of 2238-unrelated fallout fansites to get some posts about us, in time.

Oliver, we just can't spam about AoP on 2238's board (or anywhere else), it would be both offensive and counter-productive. Game is not ready yet, so if people decide to leave FOnline now, we can just hope that they'll come back one day or another. Now, if you wanna do some advertising, keep people informed that AoP is being developed and spread the word in new places, you're welcome to do it. The time we don't spend on that task is time we'll spend on something else for the best of AoP.

Also, personally, I'm not afraid of FOnline playerbase size. I don't consider it reduced nor fixed to a maximum amount of players. Some people discovered FOnline every day and liked it, and the more Fallout's franchise is alive, the more potential players FOnline gets. Then, number of FOnliners that stays on the long term depends on the games' quality (gameplay, content and universe), and their accessibility. That's probably one of 2238's worst mistakes: bringing a game in which a newbie has a so harsh time getting how it works, being owned just because necessary information was not given to him at proper ingame occasions, that he gives up quickly after his first attempt. This issue was not considered seriously enough by the devs, which had most probably not enough data to point it out too... But I've seen how hundreds of people yelled about how the game was shitty just because it didn't let them discover its content. FOnline is not a die-and-retry game. That's not how you make a game harsh and that's definitely not the way to show game's potential to players. We're very aware of that, and we'll make sure AoP doesn't follow this way.

It is totally fine. Especially our new website will be all about FOnline engine games in general and not 2238. Every talk about other FOnline projects is welcome (it even is on the 2238 board right now).
