Reconsider defensive patrol spawns in zone control
« on: September 11, 2014, 02:24:47 AM »

Today we tried to take a zone during off-line times. Of course we only got a small group together, we thought we could fight a small group of the family or v-tech maybe.

Instead our first, well equipped group(we were hiding in a single house) gets attacked from behind(no windows on that side!) by several 300hp combat armor x-ray vision homing NPCs who onehit one of us and procceed to annoy the rest.
Some v-techs were there and hiding behind the NPC group who got zero! score and looted us.

Then we came back, half of us naked, other half in rags and zip guns, and hid in a house that had zero windows on any side.

Again, x-ray vision patrol homes in on us and kills all of us but one who became a hero.

We still won the zone, with v-tech having 0 score even though they were there. Patrol just did everything.

I suggest having patrols during zone control not to have x-ray vision but use the usual sight-range based detection and just have them patrol(maybe even running due to them knowing someone is trying to take the zone) around the flag and the roads. Maybe even through houses, just having them have a route instead of homing in would already make dying to patrols with a small group less frequent and get more small pvp action.

Another problem is NPCs running and shooting at the same time.
