Hello everyone
though on short notice, I'm thrilled to announce a little free-for-all event at around 8pm CET.
We'll be using a slightly modified good old Junktown map and for those who have played our DM before, there will be a couple of twists:
- Everyone will spawn randomly at the outskirts of the map in bluesuit and will not be assigned to a team
- Gear will be found in every container around the place and has to be scavenged
- Skills will not be affected, so bring your strongest (and probably most versatile) character
- There wont be any reputation penalties, though we might play around with Bounty a bit
- Since it's an FFA event, names might or might not be hidden
- There might or might not be certain points of interest on the map (PA)
In any case, if this turns out to be as much fun as we hope it to be, more of such events with different mechancs will follow in the future.
Reminder: Server port is back to 4000

Teams would be better...you know, number balance, comes down to who really has skill.

How do we access it? Is it a specific location in the world map?
Ps: Hide the names so no one can cheat by doing alliances via teamspeak! Definitely.

Haha, this would be pretty interesting, I assume you will let us know in game too? Either way I will keep an eye here.
Whether doing it literally like Battle Royale and plopping everyone in a circle in the center around some loot, as well as loot in the map, and have the last survivor as the winner (with PA as a reward for winning not a potential loot item in battle haha).
Or dropping us in teams on the edges of the map and having the last surviving team member as the team that wins (then you could include PA, but it would still be hard to balance, and kind of turn it into a rush to find the PA).
It should be quite fun, I am down, +1 :)

there will be more than one round and whoever is dead gains supersight and can watch the rest of the fight. We might have one final round where the last 3 people standing will get something, but this whole thing is minaly for fun and nothing too serious.

If I see more than three players working together, some of them might randomly start teleporting to the other side of the map.

The game has a 50s mood and setting, with steampunk and other elements thrown in.
In the 50's racism was everywhere and socially accepted.
Here, on a forum in 2014 though?
Being racist isn't inherently wrong and doesn't neccererilly make you bad person, but using racial slurs in a place where its not needed and not necessary is.
Its one of those things best kept to yourself or at least out of this public forum, y'know?
Maybe scares some potential, much needed players away.
Who knows.

Cool is that people actually came. More events - more often people online, bringing friends and stuff.

Team would've been better...afterall this FOnline is a teamplay server
event sucked :P spawn and getting killed, having to wait 20 minutes just to get revived only to spawn full HP while still dead....THEN get revived and die again to someone with a weapon

A 'warm up' phase would do good next time, say 1 minute to find a weapon and armor.

i will ragequit when i see that it will be like this , if u wanna make shitty events then spawn just sharpened poles and spawn everyone in a small toilett ... but hey even that would be funnier .

that was the whole problem , u ever played any other event before ? thats what u have outfitters for ... and even events i played without it had loot all over the place and not just 2 items , which could be randomly everything form pks to healing powder lul

To be honest, it was really spur of the moment.
Friday morning, john says "hey let's have a pvp event tomorrow"
that day, cirn0 coded it and john modified JT (but forgot to close the damn north door) as a temporary arena.
It was very rough around the edges, and not really tested at all. I think it could have gone much worse.
You will never be able to please all people, and like everything else in AoP, it needs more work.

Besides, if anyone was, it would have been nice to have some more players.
Since the new port switch, only the hardcore players are left :(
