Title: [MISC] C++ Runtime Error when Opening Character Menu
Post by: Aco on September 08, 2014, 06:15:29 AM
First of all, sorry of this is not in the right section.
So just yesterday the game was running great. But after this recent update, everytime i open my Charecter Menu 'C' My computer crashes with a C++ Issue.
I had this issue 2 hours ago So I reinstalled my windows Opperating system. (Windows7) again. Didnt install a single thing Other than this game and I'm still having this Issue.
Currently when I try to run the FOnline.exe File that comes standardly with the game It flashes white then kicks me out instantly. So John Porno Gave me this FOnline.exe file I believe is OpenGL. Eitherway it worked great untle this recent update. I tried reinstalling all Client folders & Files But still no go.

If posible it would be good to have an updated version of the .exe file John gave me once. Or even newer if posible. And it would also be good to have an explination why the regular exe Flashes white and kicks me out instantly when I run the game.
And Yes, I did install C++ latest version.

Ill post an issue of what happens when I press 'C' With the Exe file John_Porno gave me.

So eitherway, Sorry again if wrong topic, Would be cool to have some help on this issue.

Windows7. My brother is running this game on windows7 aswell but no problems for him.

This is most odd, as I do not own the source code to the game engine, I feel like I can only take somewhat educated guesses to the problem. What have you tried already? What version of the C++ runtime have you installed?

From googling it seems to a common problem not isolated to FOnline. So perhaps googling the error  "r6002 floating point support not loaded" might yield some good results.

On microsoft for example:
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_xp-windows_programs/i-get-an-error-r6002-floating-point-support-not/0cd554ae-ffa4-416a-b66d-30f51d663de5 (http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_xp-windows_programs/i-get-an-error-r6002-floating-point-support-not/0cd554ae-ffa4-416a-b66d-30f51d663de5)

Its obvious what the problem is. I'm Using an old exe file I think not Open GL to run this game (a 1 yearold exe file john porno gave me)

If I try to run the new exe (that comes with game) I get kicked out instantly when starting up. Just like a white flash and back to game folder. If THIS problem can be fixed would be much better.

Tried checking if your anti virus didn't put it in quarantine in sneak mode?

Like I said before.
I just reinstalled windows7. Clean system. No anti virus. Nothing Except C++ (newest version) And servicepack3.
Basicly All I need is a newer version of Non-OpenGL exe and it will work fine.

when you say C++ newest version what exactly did you install?

PS windows 7 doesnt have a service pack 3, thats XP  :o

Windows is built in service pack3. So i mentioned it cuz it has built in C++, And I installed the C++ from most recent game disks such as rainbowsix vegas2. They have it in disk for 2011 computers.

My brother tried the exe im running right now and he had this Problem with 'C' charecter menu crash.

Just to clarify that its windows7:

Both opengl and dx client are old.

I don't understand what you have installed when you say "I installed c++ latest version". If you are talking of MS redistributable c++, you don't need the latest, in fact on seven you don't need something else.

Also if the game stop, you can check fonline.log to see if something interesting at the end of file.

Did you try the game windowed? same problem?

On fullscreen, did this happen at the beginning or start bugging after some alt-tab?

Can you launch something else on you system without problem? (why did you reinstall the first time?)

Both are old ? Lil weird. The one im using is something like 2 years old.
I said I have the lastest version of MS Redistributable C++. And I installed it to test if game would not crash when I use it.
I checked the Log FOnline.Log. There is nothing interesting.

Ive tried Windowed mode. Not windowed mode. With Vsync, Without Vsync, High res, Low res. Textures etc. On both exes. The first one (OpenGL) One just flashes white and kicks out instantly. I dont get to see anything but a flash on screen then gone.

I also tried running as administrator. Didn't work either.

I reinstalled windows because the game wasnt running well. I thoght hey it could be a computer issue since it wasnt like that before. Untle one of ur recent updates on the date of this thread. Waste of reinstalling windows time but w/e.

I run all sorts of softwares FLAWLESSLY. No issues.

Try going in control panel -> programs and features and see what Visual C++ items are installed.  Uninstall all of them then reinstall, from microsoft links (theses links are for x86 if you are x64 find x64 version on microsoft site):

-2005 c++ redistributable http://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/download/details.aspx?id=3387
-2008 c++ redistributable http://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/download/details.aspx?id=29
-2010 c++ redistrbutable  http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555

Then reboot and see if issue resolves.

EDIT:
your processor supports 64 bit too, why not install 64 bit windows 7? You can only use 4 gig of RAM on 32 bit anyway so you're wasting half your ram.

here is iso you can use, it's 64bit professional, maybe it will work, I've seen most people getting this error online seem to have 'ultimate' edition:
http://msft-dnl.digitalrivercontent.net/msvista/pub/X15-65805/X15-65805.iso

also try running fonline after fresh windows install, dont download/install any c++ stuff

Try
Reinstalling directX
Reinstalling (from official site) graphic drivers for your card.

My Interenet is masively slow. Imposible for me to download that. It would take something like 30 days. :P
Also My brother just got this error. It happens same to him now for some reason yesterday. Maybe u guys are constantly updateing something that is messing around with this ?
I tried installing directX. doesnt work either
I have windows Vista 64bit but it wont burn on any disk cuz its too large ;p But I really think its something that the deveolpers are doing thats outdating some of our exes.

But what I dont get is why game works fine for almost everyoen else, including me, and I have fresh win 7 professional without any service packs or updates applied.

Vista as I recall was a nightmare, but still you could try to boot it from USB stick, assuming your computer's BIOS isn't ancient (and you have a big enough stick). Windows made a tool for writing their ISO's to bootable usb, you can get it here: http://wudt.codeplex.com/

Did your brother install windows with same ultimate cd as you? Maybe there is something corrupted in that install, I dont know ;x

You can also try download some VM software like VirtualBox, and use your vista 64bit iso to install vista in a VM, and see if it works in there, so you dont have to switch whole OS to have same problem occur

I don't think using 64bit windows will solve anything, that problem can't be connected to it.

So, did you try fresh new full drivers, not the ones you get with win7 update but from manufacturer site?
Title: Re: [MISC] C++ Runtime Error when Opening Character Menu
Post by: catstevens on September 12, 2014, 12:39:53 PM
It can't be connected to 64 bit itself, but clearly something is wrong with his C++ libraries so installing a different version of windows, or evne same version from a different source, might help. I just suggest he use 64 bit seeing as he has 8 gb of ram and therefore is wasting 50% of it. It's not likely to be video drivers because problem only happens when he press 'C' for character window, not when game launch

I reinstalled windows7. Forgot to readd my patch to use all ram on 32 bit opperating system. And btw I dont just have 8gbs. I have 24 gbs on computer. :P
This c++ issue isnt really the problem. its the main EXE I need to get running. If you guys could find out a way to get the main regular exe from running without this white flash and esc then it would be great. Also Catstvens - Thanks for that USB trick, ill check it out later.

Did you try full screen and windowed ?(fo config)
Did you try changing resolution ?(fo config)
Did you try changing monitor refresh rate ? (screen resolution, advanced settings, monitor)
With Vsync on and off ? (fo config )

Some ATI cards have problem with opengl, but this was usually fix'd by installing older drivers....

Maybe try omega drivers for them ?
