Title: Charisma
Post by: Perteks on February 23, 2013, 05:32:58 PM
First, do you guys have any idea about making something with charisma stats?

If not there is my proposition
Like all of us know it's first stat to get it to lowest value.
I know you wanna go with reputation counter for kills or something like that.
Then maybe lets do "base reputation count for kills * Charisma". Comparing to other stats i think it will suffice to start making difference.

Leadership ?

I think its not enough.
Most of these propositions won't encourage players to not drop charisma to 1.
Non combat training modifiers, with enough time you will have it maxed anyway.
WM group, ugh maybe alt or mentats? Dunno actually but not enough.

For sure there should be some serious penalty for having only 1 charisma, like much higher price for training and some for stuff (not big because it will encourage to make just alt for it)

Leadership might play a big role in pvp, so I think that's a serious application already. Wait & see until we got it properly running though.

Anyway, that's very possible we'll need more applications for charisma. We still think about it.

Just small idea

Suppresion - charisma roll
Its actually not that totally sensless and suppression will be probably big problem in pvp.

I know that AoP is a Pvp server but charisma is to soldiers like luck is to crafters. Crafters is the opposite (for me) of soldiers but these two "build" are specialized. Maybe it's normal to all these specialized build to be very bad in one stat.
When i talk about specialized build i don't talk about optimized build where last ones considers all features likes equipments, drugs, etc..

But charisma can have a lot of impact in the game, i think about a lot of "help" feature that make the game easier if you have more charisma.
Better reward from NPC (quests or usual missions)?
Better room instead of crappy ones?
Talk distance limitation, people don't care about you (and less 2 charisma you can't shout) (
Reputation increase more with high charisma and decrease less. If a low charisma guy make some trouble he will quickly be hated, a charisma guy will be quickly be forgiven.
Leadership (we don't have details)
Access to some reserved location before to have the real access? (by being friend of a NPC, but need reserved locations ...)
If faction can have promoted players, maybe restrict these promotion to players with a least 3 charisma for first rank and more to higher  rank.
A real group feature (i have a whole idea about this point, exp sharing, group management, group communication, ..)
Human NPC reaction, even aggressive npc will not shoot you if you have enough charisma and they don't hate you. (an aggressively level threshold ..)
...

nice, actually a couple of good ideas in there. THe problem is just while they might have a lot of impact on the general playability of a char, it does not really concern PvP in any way, so pvp players would just live with the downsides and dump it to 1 anyway.

Charisma needs to be tied with actual pvp combat, otherwise, people will  bypass charisma-based features with alts.
So it should modify fame/reputation gain among other things planned.

I. What if you will have able start ZC timer only when you have charisma not less then 5 and lvl not less then 18. Nearly you must be in additional 2 players with charisma not less then 2 and lvl not less then 8.

II. For ZC you will get money, fame or reputation something like on this formula :  x(constant)*damage that you made*(your charisma/2)*(sum of charisma of all players from your side, including you[who have 1 charisma will count for 0]) / ammount of that players). An axample if you have 5 charisma and you had 3 mates with 1, 2, 2 and 3 charisma, then : x*(450)*(5/2=2,5)*([5+0+2+2+3]/4=3). Total : x * 450 * 2,5 * 3 = x * 3375. If you have one charisma then 1 charisma /2 = 0,5. It will desrease that ammount more then in 2 times (dont forget about [0+0+2+2+3] instead of [5+0+2+2+3]).
Conclusion : more fame , money and reputation for people who have more then 1 charisma; and for you profitable have more friends with at least 2 charisma, that will influence on your money, fame and reputation too.

III. If you have 1 charisma you can be killed by anyone from your faction and he will not lost reputation.

IV. Traders will not speack with characters who have 1 charisma.

V. If you have more then 3 charisma and lvl more then 18  -  each score of your charisma will give 2 AC scores to mates around you on some distantion (10 charisma = +20 AC for friends).

VI. If you have less then 3 charisma you will start with less amount of reputation and you should achieve able have private room.

VII. If you have more then 3 charisma you will get access to simple quests for which you will get +50% to repair, throw, FA or any other skills.
