Title: Bug Reports
Post by: Planck on February 10, 2014, 03:45:59 AM
Hello players and moderators!
Beta has just started and it's time to step on the little bugs to keep up the hard work the team has put in Ashes Of Phoenix.
[Feel free to post bugs you encounter here and I can add them to the main post!]
[Let me know when these bugs are addressed and I can cross them off the list of bugs!]

I hope to encourage more people to play in the future of AoP once the sketchy things are cleared up  ;D
So I will post any bugs I encounter here to help out as best as I can, because honestly I like a fair game to be fair, no cheating(bugs).
Without ado, here is my list(Changes As I test)
~-~--~-~
1. Dead Man Walking would normally let you go to -200 before dying but instead you stay at -99 and cannot die, with groups this is exploitable for the one with this perk to take NPC Aggro, get KO'ed and have team finish off NPC who continue to attack the downed person.
Also bad for solo as you get stuck there for a while and need to log out and wait a while to de-aggro.

2. The guy who gives out assignments, there is the option, "Kthx" If you choose this option it gives a non-existant assignment and you cannot choose the "Give Up" option to get a real assignment. (Stuck unable to do assessments on 3 characters)
Also I believe you lose Reputation rather than gain when finishing quest. I noticed in chatlog after finishing quest that I lost 1 Reputation.

3. The tutorial area as I call it, or the map before you enter the base where you choose your faction; NPC respawn after a while, and is very noticeable allowing for one to rack up experience with ease unlike going around in the Phoenix Core where its harder to find NPC. (Yes it may seem slow but enemies should not respawn)

4.Double check some recipes just for errors, I seen that Metal Armor MK II takes 3 of "? ? ?" item so it can't be crafted right now.

5.When creating a character, if you take heavy handed with 10 AG everything resets to 5. It is possible other SPECIAL changing traits can mess this up in some ways.

6.When looking at traits/SPECIAL/other stats they tend to overwrite each other and its impossible to read the context. It usually happens after I look at a trait and then try to look at something like Bleed Resistance.

7. Glitchy running gecko animations
Yes, it bothers someone :P

8. Spears from NPCs can't be used to craft higher tier spears on the workbench.

9. Assisted Targeting System
System does not show -[hit_chance] for parts. It shows -%s. Although, not all people seem to have this problem.

5. Phazer has got jammed
Not sure, if this is bug or not, but my initial weapon with current condition of 73% has got jammed after 2-3 first shots right at the start of the game. I guess, it should not happen with the weapon in such a good condition  ;)

jams always happen, even with higher condition items. it just much less likely.

6. Glitchy running gecko animations
Yes, it bothers someone :P
I fixed the animation (up to my skills) for golden gecko some time ago. You can find it here -> Golden gecko animation (https://github.com/wladimiiir/vault112/tree/master/Critters)

Afaik we use it, and I made fixes based on it for other geckos. Strange is, geckos are not the only mobs to be glitching while it wasn't that much the case a few weeks ago. I'll have to investigate.

The problem is in the load order of data files. In DataFiles.cfg these two sections should be swapped:
Code: [Select]
# Ashes of Phoenix content
.\fonline.zip

# Fallout content (master.dat + critter.dat)
.\critter.dat
.\master.dat

First, load the original data and then your customizations ;)

This means you have outdated art files. Try updating the client.

5.When creating a character, and I don't know what exactly causes this to happen, but when finishing making the character most of the S.P.E.C.I.A.L stats are reset back to 5. It has happened to my friend, and just happened to me with new character.

Tested some Special stats and found if you take heavy handed with 10 AG everything resets to 5.

Spears from NPCs don't count like spears in workbench for craft from them more good spears.

Planck, could you update your list more clearly? Seems like all bugs aren't mentioned in it. Would be useful, thanks in advance.

We've added a bug report section. Please post your bugs there from now on. No need to recreate threads for those described here.

Use FOnlineGL.exe to launch the game, that crash shouldn't happen then. We'll fix the exe later.
