I am not sure how features mentioned by cirn are supposed to work in game, but i realy believe combat achievements should manifest in very short time. If you gona need to atack same zone like 10 times to actualy capture it, this might become psychological threshold to even initiate action there.

My first assumption: balancing teams in small scale realy IS possible. I am also assuming that players are playing AOP arena server to use advanced pvp features in concurrent action, everytime i am playing i cant find pvp, not becouse 0 players online! Even 6 online could have solid pvp....
... if i am only one with such problem, my apology takes place here...
...if you are experiencing same as i do, it took you too long to realize surprise is not what we are (i am) looking for.

Okay i will:
Lets imagine intelligence available in hypothetic situation of 5 "cappers", there comes unnamed swarm with 12, what will happen? 5 cappers will flee! Wooohoo, what an unexpected result, maybe next time swarm will not swarm but balance teams, eventualy  fights will take longer than 60 seconds. Eventualy there will be even minor portion of FUN before everybody dead.

And opposite hypothetical situation? Well maybe swarm of 12 after taking 2 or 3 zones unchallenged will realize there is something missing for pvp, eventualy they will offer help to other teams without any further necessary indications.

Thats IMO only way to create balance on server without further GM support or cirn0 need create script spawning players, oh wait.

Give people info about numbers of enemy, let them rebalance game on their own, those who will be intentionaly violating balance are simply part of the 1st problem...
This is my honest opinion about all said in this thread, why is my opinion such?, you should consider 2 reasons, i realy cant argue brainless reasoning of other debatants or i am just in bad mood being arogant.

ofc its not supposed to undermine nature of sneaking, but while desneaked in hostile teritory you would be monitored.

would take any surprise out of the game
Dont forget traveling across own territory makes you hidden same as before.

My question is how would transparency of team numbers affect gameplay in your opinion?

We can see how many players except sneakers are in zone unless its alredy contested or some exploit is used to fool current ZC message. Would it be much of difference if we could see faction composition and exact number  even while more than 6 and during zone contest?

My opinion: this would affect positively approach of players into zones and decrease the surprise factor. Also balancing teams in realtime would be much much easier.

As i explained to Caboose in irc today, when he complained about players, which are playing dirty to win regardless of honour or simply "do not care".

sounds good, but actualy i cant see what problem is this measure addressed to. Even if it provides some minor advantage, importance is far less than minor.

I would like to see any solution addressed to problem of number imbalance in realtime gameplay.

EG: Polymer lab is being contested(7,0,4,1)

implement hotkeys for certain builds, eg:

alt+0 = fastshoot, heavyhanded, 7 1 10 1 10 10 1 , Man of steel, Toughness ....
alt+9 = gifted, skilled, 6 1 9 4 9 9 1 ....
alt+8 = red ranger ...
alt+7 = pikachu ...
...

start whereever you want, you can swich faction afterwards, just get level 24 before you gona start pvp, also you could continue playing your "testing" alts if you have some. Dont forget we have free abd full reroll feature, comands are ~give me thre rerill and ~reroll S P E C I A L

i have idea and i ll try to explain.

1.Each faction member has 1 "toll credit", this credit is moved from zone to zone with him, latest 6 zone tresspasings are converted to "active credits". Only these 6 "active credits" determines which and at what speed zone is being taken , same as always, except fact its limited to 6 for whole core.

2.If faction travels thru the hostile territory, only the latest  6 tresspasings are recorded, so if you send scout to check adjacent zone for enemies, you ll temporary loose 1 credit from your zone and put it to scouted zone. If scout dies, his "active credit" is given to 7th "toll credit" in order, unless there is not any other gangmate in core, so his "active credit" remains unused.

3.If you enter zone which is being taken by enemies. You put one of your credits into it, reducing their timer speed by 1. If equal numbers of "active credits" from both factions are present in 1 zone, timer is suspended. Timer can be launched again only less than 6 members and inequal number is present in zone. So basicaly dieing or leaving, but just below of 6 players in zone.

Hope its clear, but there is more shady situations which may happens.

Hey guys,

Seems fun was alredy achieved in fo2 and it will go just down now, at least from my point of view. Me and maybe few more midnight riders looking forward to try AOP again. Tomorrow/this weekend/next week i would like to jump in to find some PVP. Could anyone briefly summarize all changes since January? Also which faction supposedly can find oponents in PVP(where should i play)?. Any advice will be appreciated.
