Personally I'm not convinced with the approach of the tech tree as it is, especially for T2 weapons. I understand the concept though, that you go from a more mainstream weapon to a more particular one, but it doesn't look like a real improvement compared to the required effort imo. Perhaps rewarding the player with a weapon of the learned type as well could help? Or maybe that's too much...
However, this tech tree will work well with armors and other items indeed. For your information, the strongest armor on AoP is the Advanced Power Armor, but it's not gonna be craftable at all, nor obtainable any easy way. I don't even think it's implemented yet, but it should exist at some point and be offered to players as reward for certain actions. After that one, there are the Hardened Power Armor and Power Armor, which should be craftable under extremely difficult conditions. We plan them to be used by players despite that rarity. After that, there are all the other armors, including Factions Combat armors, which exist in Mark I and Mark II.
I'm happy with current crafting requirements, though some balancing will be needed here and there, especially concerning components availability.
