I was showing a friend fallout, and I saw STALKER and a few of his buddies in paradise. Decided to run up to him (he was wearing CAMK3) and start spraying with a Thompson.  Terrible, terrible, terrible idea. My friend hasn't played Fallout since haha.

never approach stalker without big group. Not because he's good, but because he never leaves base without a group smaller than 6.

If you see him running towards you, you should run. Again, not because he's any good, but because he only gets the courage to attack when he has army of 8-10+ following right behind him.

Curiously, you'll never find him 1v1 anywhere, despite his catch phrase about being a '1 man army'. Just an observation I know it sound like insult but it's actually not really, just what I've noticed :)

so, you contend that this server is NOT for pking, but only for group pvp in zone control? Where does it say that? Where do you get that from? This is pvp server and PK is obviously huge part of it. I dont think anyone will disagree, except you

Explain how that video shows russia "invading and taking over Crimea's military and civilian infrastructure". (Other than the on screen text that says so). By the way, did you see the turnout and vote percentages? By all accounts it was a fair vote. Crimeans overwhelming wanted to leave Ukraine, and I would too if a foreign-backed, nazi-integrated coup happened in my country.

Yes, you should examine all evidence and make decision for yourself. Here's what we have so far:

- US sponsored coup forms illegitimate new government in Ukraine

- people in east of ukraine don't recognize this violent coup which is integrated with neo-nazi groups

- new government and neo-nazi brigade begin shelling towns, murdering dissidents including a massacre is Odessa where people were chased into a building which was then set on fire so they could burn alive. Those who left the building were shot at.

- New government continues doing things 100x worse than old, deposed government ever did.

- Western leaders immediately recognize this unelected, violent criminal regime as the "sole legitimate representative of the Ukrainian people" (just like they did with the fundamentalist mobs that took over libya, which btw continues to be a hell on earth plunged into pure chaos, and the military weapon stores there were shipped to "rebels" in syria (now rebraned as 'isis' - great hollywood name - to try more destablization and regime change)

- After all this, news media calls it "russian aggression" and says "russia has invaded"

You idiot. Do you have any idea what an actual Russian invasion of Ukraine would look like? Do you even know what the word invasion means?

You ask the average idiot on the street whats happening and what will they say " Ukraine is in war with russia" . Thanks to dumb propaganda like VICE news pretending to be anything but mouthpiece of the power elite and war drummers.

How Can You Tell Whether Russia has Invaded Ukraine?

By Dmitry Orlov
September 01, 2014 "ICH" -  Last Thursday the Ukrainian government, echoed by NATO spokesmen, declared that the the Russian military is now operating within Ukraine's borders. Well, maybe it is and maybe it isn't; what do you know? They said the same thing before, most recently on August 13, and then on August 17, each time with either no evidence or fake evidence. But let's give them the benefit of the doubt.

You be the judge. I put together this helpful list of top ten telltale signs that will allow you to determine whether indeed Russia invaded Ukraine last Thursday, or whether Thursday's announcement is yet another confabulation. (Credit to Roman Kretsul).

Because if Russia invaded on Thursday morning, this is what the situation on the ground would look like by Saturday afternoon.

1. Ukrainian artillery fell silent almost immediately. They are no longer shelling residential districts of Donetsk and Lugansk. This is because their locations had been pinpointed prior to the operation, and by Thursday afternoon they were completely wiped out using air attacks, artillery and ground-based rocket fire, as the first order of business. Local residents are overjoyed that their horrible ordeal is finally at an end.

2. The look of military activity on the ground in Donetsk and Lugansk has changed dramatically. Whereas before it involved small groups of resistance fighters, the Russians operate in battalions of 400 men and dozens of armored vehicles, followed by convoys of support vehicles (tanker trucks, communications, field kitchens, field hospitals and so on). The flow of vehicles in and out is non-stop, plainly visible on air reconnaissance and satellite photos. Add to that the relentless radio chatter, all in Russian, which anyone who wants to can intercept, and the operation becomes impossible to hide.

3. The Ukrainian military has promptly vanished. Soldiers and officers alike have taken off their uniforms, abandoned their weapons, and are doing their best to blend in with the locals. Nobody thought the odds of the Ukrainian army against the Russians were any good. Ukraine's only military victory against Russia was at the battle of Konotop in 1659, but at the time Ukraine was allied with the mighty Khanate of Crimea, and, you may have noticed, Crimea is not on Ukraine's side this time around.

4. There are Russian checkpoints everywhere. Local civilians are allowed through, but anyone associated with a government, foreign or domestic, is detained for questioning. A filtration system has been set up to return demobilized Ukrainian army draftees to their native regions, while the volunteers and the officers are shunted to pretrial detention centers, to determine whether they had ordered war crimes to be committed.

5. Most of Ukraine's border crossings are by now under Russian control. Some have been reinforced with air defense and artillery systems and tank battalions, to dissuade NATO forces from attempting to stage an invasion. Civilians and humanitarian goods are allowed through. Businessmen are allowed through once they fill out the required forms (which are in Russian).

6. Russia has imposed a no-fly zone over all of Ukraine. All civilian flights have been cancelled. There is quite a crowd of US State Department staffers, CIA and Mossad agents, and Western NGO people stuck at Borispol airport in Kiev. Some are nervously calling everyone they know on their satellite phones. Western politicians are demanding that they be evacuated immediately, but Russian authorities want to hold onto them until their possible complicity in war crimes has been determined.

7. The usual Ukrainian talking heads, such as president Poroshenko, PM Yatsenyuk and others, are no longer available to be interviewed by Western media. Nobody quite knows where they are. There are rumors that they have already fled the country. Crowds have stormed their abandoned residences, and were amazed to discover that they were all outfitted with solid gold toilets. Nor are the Ukrainian oligarchs anywhere to be found, except for the warlord Igor Kolomoisky, who was found in his residence, abandoned by his henchmen, dead from a heart attack. (Contributed by the Saker.)

8. Some of the over 800,000 Ukrainian refugees are starting to stream back in from Russia. They were living in tent cities, many of them in the nearby Rostov region, but with the winter coming they are eager to get back home, now that the shelling is over. Along with them, construction crews, cement trucks and flatbeds stacked with pipe, cable and rebar are streaming in, to repair the damage from the shelling.

9. There is all sorts of intense diplomatic and military activity around the world, especially in Europe and the US. Military forces are on highest alert, diplomats are jetting around and holding conferences. President Obama just held a press conference to announce that “We don't have a strategy on Ukraine yet.” His military advisers tell him that his usual strategy of “bomb a little and see what happens” is not likely to be helpful in this instance.

10. Kiev has surrendered. There are Russian tanks on the Maidan Square. Russian infantry is mopping up the remains of Ukraine's National Guard. A curfew has been announced. The operation to take Kiev resembled “Shock and Awe” in Baghdad: a few loud bangs and then a whimper.

Armed with this list, you too should be able to determine whether or not Russia has invaded Ukraine last Thursday.

Suggestions / Re: ZC alternative

Personally I would really rather see unique pvp mechanics than the crap we'eve seen in every fps since counterstrike. (so I only like the last one but thats just my opinoin)

Speaking of pvp mechanics from counterstrike, what about VIP Caravan escort ! A npc or group of npc spawns at a metting point and you must walk with them to their destination within the core.

Or warfare, each gate spawns big NPC group that walks towards center. Each team must destroy the tohers npc group while protecting their own

if players will stick to "PK" behaviour, it is and always will be contraproductive in matter of building up playerbase. Thats it.

What are you talking about? This fonline server is meant for pk and pvp only. Your statement makes no sense for AOP.

Moving on, here are some missions in core that could work differently than the current ones:
- assassination :  You are given location (e.g. PV bioab), target mob spawns when one person from assignment team enters.

- exploration : You are given a location to visit and return from (after sending pipboy gps data back to base) within the core

- Security : You are given a location in the core that the whole assignment group must stay in for 10 minutes.

- Discovery : You are given a location and a certain item that you must find within them. The item will spawn.

- Seek & Destroy (abusable but what isnt): You are tasked with killing a member of your main enemy gang within the core

 - Intel gathering : You must vist an enemy gate and remain there for 20 minutes

More meandering:

As for ZC, here's my brutal opinion. The AOP devs have created a unique fonline game, focused on pvp, with new mechanics, 100% new maps, new character system, new guns, etc. Totally changed fonline and I think did an amazing job breathing new life into it. But then, you make ZC which is essentially the exact same as TC but without a loot box. Why? Why did you have to add TC into a new unique game you created? And we see what happenes, big gangs only logging on for zc battles, etc. You took your unique amazing product and stamped it with the old fonline that everyone is bored of. IMO ZC should be changed to be totally different so it's not just the same as TC. Taking zone should be ongoing battle involving a few factors not just TC timer. Well if anyone read this whole wall of text I congratulate them!

i agree 100%. I think having missions in instanced locations is a mistake for this game. The high-rep missions should instead take place within the core i think.

Check ViceNews. At least its impartial

That didn't happen. At all.

I was actually busy fixing up that paradise valley DUNGEON everyone is waiting for, but had to put that on hold to go do this instead.

dungeons sux

I was in a group that beat back Vtech attacks 3 times in one day just a few days ago. We had no voice comms and only about 6 of us were actually well equipped.

Where's the videos of that? :P

This did happen, there werent that many online though.

nothing wrong with making video when you lose. It's a bit misleading though to say you responded to their challenge when you actually waited for them to leave so you could come camp a room with superior equipment. Then again if this is what makes u proud who am I to judge.

Other than that I liked the video itself, especially the beginning where the challenge is revealed, made me laugh

PS - family doesnt even use voice com and still beats you guys  without needing to camp room with t3.

V-tech: very badass, much skill

Suggestions / Re: Energy Weapon suggestions
« on: October 15, 2014, 12:43:00 PM »
As OP stated the main problem with EW is that there is only one type that has range (laser ext), and it happens that this gun is very bad against metal armors (and tesla ofc). I disagree with some of the other statements about EW though. Here my thoughts:

- Phazer -> should be removed, its only use is as to be a t1 EW and starting weapon and you may as well just switch it to regular laser pistol.

- laser pistol  -> good for upgrading to magneto which is good crippler b/c of its perks, I think is good as-is.

- laser rifle / laser rifle ext --> don't change, good as-is.

- plasma rifle -> is shit, almost completely useless, which sucks because plasma is supposed to be badass.

Suggestion: a decent increase of damage, and small increase of range.

- electro rifle -> most useless gun in game. Having 20 minimum damage means its a crap shoot every time you shoot. It's range is also a joke, there's literally no reason to use this gun instead of an energy pistol as they have same range and pistol shoots faster. Yes, some armors have low eletric res, but it doesn't really matter if your min. damage is 20. I've shot at ants with this damn rifle and had to take 3 shots to kill one. Also, this is the final EW crafting recipe you get, so why is it the shittiest EW gun?

suggestion: Increase range. Let electro rifle have similar range to laser rifle. And increase min. damage to 35.

-> pulse pistol : someone said it's useless, I disagree, it's badass if you are vs someone in metal, it shoots so fast you can get 5 shots on them before they get one on you, and yes it's not aimed (for some reason) but you get knockback often.

suggestion: add ability to aim shot.

-> rad rifle: Sucks you can't aim shot, but it's not terrible because of nice damage output. I would leave this one as-is.

-> rad smg: does not need change, it is great for crippling with its 2x limb-shredder trait.

-> electro smg: kind of sucks, yes it's electric but I would rather use rad smg in any situation.

Suggestion: Give it a bit more damage OR give it the limb shredder traits like Rad smg has.

Suggestions / Enhanced Kill Count
« on: October 10, 2014, 11:03:55 AM »
Is it possible to have more specifics on player kill count?

e.g. In character sheet kills section, you click on your Players kill count and you get another screen of your player kills divided by Faction:
Vtec - 0
Lawyers - 42
Brahmin Boys - 45
Family - 55

And then if you click on one of the faction names, you get list of each player in that faction that youve killed and the number of times you've kill them, e.g.:
Napolenone32 - 8
MadDog - 3
Jimmy - 10

Developer Corner / Re: State of Factions and ZC Payouts
« on: October 10, 2014, 10:58:06 AM »
Yes but in this game you can't craft ammo or (until later) armor so you need caps to continue pvp, and you rarely find caps in core. If you do ZC you can get enough to keep yourself equipped but otherwise you run out eventually. Then you get forced to do assignments for caps and xp if you run out of equipment or need levels which is a problem I think. Assignments should take place in the core, I think it's a mistake to have them as instanced locations because it keeps people out of the core

Developer Corner / Re: State of Factions and ZC Payouts
« on: October 10, 2014, 09:16:11 AM »
Yes, ZC rewards are not right. You spend not only your best equipment but tons of timmme. Probably you should get some base amount just for being there (as long as enemy actually came) and then get caps based on your score added to that.

But another issue is non-ZC pvp. You get no faction reward for doing PvP in core, I think you should. Maybe bonus stipend from your faction based on how much core pvp you do.

17
it cycles as you press it, from max range only -> eff + max range -> eff range only

General Discussions / Re: Bored
« on: October 06, 2014, 01:43:55 PM »
the only thing that makes this game boring is when whole core is empty because everyone went to sleep. And I dont know if devs can fix that without mass-mailing of stimunlant drugs.

The fact you can roam the core looking for pvp (and actually find it 9/10 times) makes this actually more exciting than any fonline i have played, when you instead roam on WM from dungeon to dungeon hoping for PvP and rarely find it. I also like how you can have epic chases in this because you can cross grid during combat.

Also due to small map even when just 50 players  online youll find some to fight. Try playing another FOnline server with 50 online, you wont ever see a soul.

Assignments take away from fun because they keep people out of core and in instanced locatinos. I think there should be next tier of assignments hat require 50k rep and take place within the core (visit location, kill mob, loot something, etc)

Changelogs / Re: 03.10.2014 Changelog
« on: October 06, 2014, 11:19:37 AM »
No, seeing someone doesn't desneak them, they are still considered sneaking until you hit them, hence why they seem to disappear into thin air.

This is the ONLY problem with sneak. Revert nerfs and make it so being seen un-sneaks them, and all problems solved and everybody happy. Add a 1.5s timer for sneak (they must be unseen for 1.5s to activate) and you have well balanced sneak that is deadly but not to the level of wizards.

And since I guess the above wont happen for some reason, at least make it so when you raise gun to shoot at sneak and they disappear, it still shoots but with -40% accuracy or something. It's just plain buggy to constantly raise your gun (and often lose AP without shooting) at a sneak.

It's dumb how as a sneak you can simply run 2 hex to the side while the guy raises his gun, and disappear, then come back and kill because he wasted all his AP on buggy mechanics.

Suggestions / make squad chat show over heads for squad members only

it would be really helpful if squad-only chat (/q) would show over the members head who speaks it, so its easier to see. Obviously it woul have to be only other squad memebrs that see it over the head
