Make nuka-cola a food.
« on: October 06, 2014, 09:47:05 PM »

Make so nuka-cola gives +5 healing rate and +10 carry weight like others foods. Now it doesn't give anything, its just a waste of space.

Yes it is used to craft but so are the fruits.

Also the nuka cola can actually be used but has no effect and therefor it would be fine to work as normal food in my opinion. (other "food" like alcohol is also used for crafting)

When I saw alcohol worked like food I gave this game a permanent 10/10 would play all years.

But Nuka Cola SHOULD work in the same way.  Even though they don't do anything I like to drink them and imagine having a nice refreshing soda after a day of murdering.

Here's an idea:

Make Nuke-Cola work like food, but at the same time, it should be addicting, basically be a light drug (depending on your drug perks). In case it will grant healing or such, make it so you can only drink one NUKE COLA before its effect disappears.

Example :
8 hp regen (1 more than food, but you are limited to 1 nuke cola per use)
~1-5 radiation per use (Not sure exactly how much radiation is too much now)
- IT should also fill 1 food slot.

So basically 0/4 food.
You eat 3 fruit and drink one cola(You can max drink 1 cola, having to wait for its effect to expire, this is obviously for balance assuming it will do more than 5hp/10kg). You get 4/4.

Stats will be :
30 extra carry KGs.
23 Hp regen
~radiation increased~ - this should combat the extra HP regen, which on the long run it'll hurt if "abused".

This is just an example, might be a bad one but someone with more experience could come with something better. It should definitely be a light drug and cause addiction due to what it contains (The nuke cola) that is. But it should also not replace food items and be like an enchantment you can take or skip, having the drug drawback.

Well its called NukA not NukE Cola :P so I am not sure where you get the nuke from that.

If you think that the post apocalyptic soft drink should be addictive ... well no it shouldnt as its just a softdrink "warm and flat".
Now why I think the Nuka Cola shouldn't be addictive is because the whole alcohol isn't either.

Also the rads you would get in your idea? well you die once and the radiation is gone anyway.

Hehe good catch but I still dont think that the nuka cola would need to be addictiv or radioactive

Edit://
So after reading on a wiki I read that the nuka cola sometimes contained a small dose of jet, maybe that would explain the addictivity it had as the easter egg you mentioned Perteks.

Hmm well the german wiki entry contains the info that jet sometimes was a ingredient
http://de.fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Nuka-Cola
"Manche Versionen enthielten zusätzlich noch Vitamineralisier, Stärkungsmittel und geringe Dosierungen Jet."
Its near the end of the background .. "Geschichte" .. topic

but the english version does not.
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Nuka-Cola

So yea, just did check the german site befor.

Well my point is to give it a con. Otherwise it can just be made food like the other food making it no different.

This is the effects it got in New Vegas.
effects      +3 Radiation
+2 Hit Points per second for 25s
+1 bottle cap
Hardcore mode only:
+10 Dehydration
-15 Sleep

Also coffeine is one of the ingredients if I'm not mistaken, which is why some might carve more, of course that's from a roleplay perspective.

Radiation could be its con as long as it does something different compared to the normal food.
