i cant see how modern weapons of any kind make the myriad of older weapons less deadly ???
actualy most of the modern armors are quite inadequate to protect from bladed weapons, and arrow, bolt, javelin type of projectiles

so u carry superior machinegun and dats make blow from ordinary sledgehammer less deadly ???

« on: February 24, 2015, 04:41:39 AM »
the idea is to pierce one target beyond the initial
so 2 targets

but it should work only when u stab pointblank and afects the target behind as range of melee sper is 2

the ability to stab at 2 range and hit additional target behind will make it easier and consistent to use so i vote for this

add the abilty to pierce 2 targets from melee atack with spear
not much of expansion but will be lore consistent

Suggestions / Re: The M1941 Johnson Rifle
« on: February 12, 2015, 05:33:59 AM »
u got confused the weapon is semiauto rifle fed from rotary shaped magazine
it is just like normal rifles xept the mag is not straight down but circular is shape , otherwise is normly fed by stripper clips like any rifle of te time (circular shape give slightly more cartridges in sligtly lower weapon profile)
so this is not revolver type of rifle

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MTs-255 the link is for revolver shotgun but u will get the picture

lack of consecutive punch is making it impractical and mostly noone will use it so hardly there will be any feedback on moving reload

"battle rifle" is common umbrela term for old ww2 rifles using the more powerfull cartridges
as the war doctrine of the time dictated the need of weps capable of 500+ meters lethality
after the war it was observed most gunfight were in the 100-300 meters range so the intermediate cartridges as 7.62x39 and 5.5 derivates were adopted alongside of the "Assault rifle " doctrine

so penetrating power of "battle rifles" and most medium machineguns is nearly identical becasue they use largley identical ammo , yet machinegun ammo thou similar in dimesions tend to have more powerfull propelant beacause they need extra kick to cycle the mecanism witch in most cases is either recoil or gas operated. So generaly speaking mg have more penetraring power.Heavy MG dat use 13mm and above cartidges are comparable in penetration and balistics to antimaterial rifles but due to their more sturdy construction longer barels  and availabilty of stronger ammuntions MG tend to perform better than the rifles

M2 as a sniper rifle[edit]
The M2 machine gun has also been used as a long-range sniper rifle, when equipped with a telescopic sight. Soldiers during the Korean War used scoped M2s in the role of a sniper rifle, but the practice was most notably used by US Marine Corps sniper Carlos Hathcock during the Vietnam War. Using an Unertl telescopic sight and a mounting bracket of his own design, Hathcock could quickly convert the M2 into a sniper rifle, using the traversing-and-elevating (T&E) mechanism attached to the tripod. When firing semi-automatically, Hathcock hit man-size targets beyond 1,800 metres (2,000 yd)—twice the range of a standard-caliber sniper rifle of the time (a .30-06 Winchester Model 70). In fact, Hathcock set the record for the longest confirmed kill at 2,250 metres (2,460 yd), a record which stood until 2002, when it was broken in Afghanistan by Canadian Forces sniper Arron Perry.[52][53]

ps better internal dmg is best achieved by 5,5 caliber ammo variations dat have offbalanced    bullet and lower powder charge , combination of these 2 things causes the bullet once entered the body to thumble and rickochet from denser surfaces such as bones causing way greater dmg than strait piercing  more powerfull rounds , bad side of such ammo is low pentration , bad balistics , and its notorious unreability  when used in battles involving dense vegetations because even pencil sized twigs tend to send the bullet offcourse

Suggestions / New Perk or Support item

Reconnaissance expert - while sneaked everyone in the squad see what you see

or alternativley

Live feed camera- support slot item dat runs on cells the same way sneakwatch does
same feature as abovementioned
extra flavor may be the need of recieving unit(dat sinks cells) to be caried by squad members thou cheapboy qualifies for dat function yet some cell drain can be added to switch it on

You want to add bleed to this:?
Spoiler for Hiden:

IMO, machineguns shouldn't be the ones that have bleed damage, after all, it's all about "force" of a bullet to them, not clip-size. Rifles on the other hand, have a much higher penetrative force, which allows them to cause inner bleeding in multiple areas at once.

what a heavy load of bullshit
most machineguns tend to use standart "battle rifle" ammo for convinience of use and greater firepower or use specialized MG ammo dat tends to have even more powder charge for any given caliber just to enshure good fire  cycling  , less jams , less loading failures
and as bonus this translates as  more firepower at greater range

on the original topic ....this mg fails to meet the expectations for a uniqe wep with expensive ammo , i has no special feeling whatsoever and adding bleed to ammo is just sugarcoating
rework is needed

Suggestions / Re: Bring back science in core
« on: February 08, 2015, 12:30:01 PM »
While the guy who scienced his stuff might be a douche (dumb is the appropriate word, IMO), but it remains HIS choice. Nobody is entitled to some items that are carried by someone else. If they want to science it, it is their problem. Their are not stealing your stuff Teela, as you don't have it when they science those.

I am really tired about people that feel entitled to get the loot on battle. If you are lucky and manage to get the loot, it is good for you. If you aren't lucky and can't get it, maybe you can get it next time. That loot isn't yours, it could be, but as long as you didn't loot it yet, you have no right to it. No matter how much stuff you brought with you, looting the enemy is bonus, it is not something you automatically get, unlike XP/caps/reputation/fame.

The only loot that is "owned" IMO, is the stuff of fallen comrade when winning a fight. They brought it and it helped us to win. They should get it back after the fight.

very very very well pointed there is no such thing as "my stuff" caried by enemy player
and of realism standpoint yes breaking items ,spoling food, posionig water and such are legit combat strategies
irl damging weapons or equipment so not to fall in enemy hands is quite easy and almost as fast as the sciencing in aop

all in all it made perfect sense and whoever used dat option was actualy good tactician not sore looser

means any unaimed hit is headhit , it uses ap as unaimed atack, it uses the crit effects table for head , dmg multiplayer of now is equal to all body parts
crit chance stays the normal unaimrd critchance (if it uses aimed it will be too strong )

shortly the whole idea is all rolls to be made vs head

Head Striker all unaimed fist weapon to be by default aimed to the head (it is te natural aim of the human punch)
since the crit rework it wont give raw dmg advantage, it will use Head crit table in case of crits and this is te proper way this kind of weps should work
