not entirely on topic, but I just want to point out that there are a lot of different aspects that come into play here and some area always forgotten.

One thing I want to mention is that 2 years ago when we started working on sneak, we of course wanted to make something more realistic and thought about soemthing like a ghillie suit where you would get a very high sneak bonus when standing still, so that sneaks would be passive scouts and do ambushes rather than actively seeking out targets.

Now, in every other game that would have been a viable thing to consider but in fonline, it's obvious that a low-cost non combat char that's most useful when standing still is just the perfect thing to use a proxy with.

I'm just saying this to point out that people who want to see a thign dramatically changed often cant see all the consequences that will bring and also that we as devs cant always make perfect mechanics due to other factors that sometimes even lie outside of the game.

ye guilly suit is greate idea but like you sead prone to abuse, but proxy people are ashools yesterday we were (3bb) global hoping to ambush v techs in building (we dident know they will come 7 and 1 whit PA but anywey we got 2 kills and only i died, just to know BB ruls) back to point they used blusuit alt to clear buildings to see wher we are, this is alt abusing or proxy abusing anywey it sux and it shoud be BANED

that was not an alt or a proxy but an idiot, fyi.

Sneak OK as it is. Yes they're annoying, yes they're lethal. But two bursts and they explode.

You missed some fat-ass battles today in that case. Fight for whorehouse today had ~20 people from 3 factions.

But of course whorehouse doesn't have a sewer exit so I understand your reluctance.

Leaving from any gate except the one from your faction will take 7 seconds longer. Good to know when you are being chased.

There is a 'faction' trader in your faction HQ who sells different stuff than the normal traders, depending on how many zones belong to your faction. He will sell TNT, but will only sell to people with 30k reputation. You could ask someone to buy it for you if he doesn't want to sell to you.

Its deep within the changelog :) :

"- Critical Damage has been changed to range from 1.2 to 1.5x damage multipliers (From 1x to 1.8x)"

So before if normal hit would be 50, critical could be 50-90 damage.
Now if a normal hit would be 50, critical could be 60-75 damage.

Hmm I must admit I'm not too happy about the rollback btw.
I painstakingly leveled up a PA character to level 20 in the days before new year's and its gone, including the PA. Fortunately it wasn't my PA since I borrowed it off someone but still :)

There's a lot of friendly fire in Vtec when everyone is just standing around doing nothing when there's no enemy in sight. All fun and games really.

I can remember only one true VTEC teamkill. In which I was the executioner. We use it as a Bogeyman nowadays; behave or we'll 'send you to the Family'. It works.



I dont know about other factions, but I never saw any teamkilling in family. (except for once, when we thought this guy was a spy.)

Best excuse for TK  :)

Have to agree Family must had the lowest numbers of TKs when the server was full.
Now I doubt that any teamkilling happens anymore with such a low population.

You wipe when you plan to add significant content/game changes. And when you have those ready to be implemented. So wiping now would be utterly random. Better wait until dev team has a big pack of updates ready.

In the meanwhile. Cirno what happened to those server parts you ordered before christmas? IM TWEAKING and soon I'm going to put my cat in the microwave and it will all be on you!

Well since I'm too lazy to read everything you people wrote there I'm just going to say this:

I found AOP rather noob friendly. I never played fonline before when I started playing this game last autumn. People (and esp. Paragon) have been very very helpful to me as a new player. By donating the occasional gear, by helping me make a playable character, by being endlessly patient and explaining game mechanics and tactics over and over again (and I still haven't learned).

On the other hand PVP in AOP is heavily dependent on team play. Gear and build are, imo, less important than how well you play together. One persons actions can lose the battle. So its understandable that there is a certain hesitation towards taking newbies to a PVP fight. When its 15 vs 15 its not so much of a problem to have a couple of people randomly running around. But in 5vs5 it can be critical.

In VTEC you have to be either very new (like lvl 3) or a total idiot to not be 'allowed' to join in PVP. Although Paragon does make a habit of threatening to 'make people join the Family' if they don't behave :D

I'm just waiting for the server parts to arrive now before I setup the temporary US east coast server. I ordered the parts on Dec 25th but holiday schedule :(.

That's mighty nice of you! I'm already experiencing severe withdrawal symptoms...

On a side note: I was going to make a sizable donation that would probably pay for a set of jumper plugs and a new BIOS battery but the 'donate' button on the front page doesn't really lead anywhere :(

Well they are throwable. Any tribal with a sense of style prefers them over normal rocks. Gold nuggets not having monetary value is a nice piece of lore :)

I think nuka-cola will be consumable at some point in the future. Read somewhere that the eventual plan is to have different effects from food. But there's more important stuff to be coded I suppose :)
