[Interest Check]Lawyer Poker Game
« on: September 21, 2014, 04:17:30 AM »

-Welcome to the Wasteland Poker Club-

Hey guys, as my name would imply I'm a huge fan of poker, part of my day-to-day involves running/dealing/promoting poker games. As such the love of poker carries over to the post-apocalyptic setting Fallout has set us in.

IF there is enough interest, I can and will setup a poker game for members of the Lawyer faction. There will be an initial cap buyin, and we will play a No-Limit Hold'em Tournament using the PokerStars Home Game client.

I'd first like to see if there is sufficient interest in this to get it off the ground, I already have the club setup and ready to go, we just need players willing to put their caps where their cards are! ;)

Show your interest and we'll be gambling in no time!

**Unfortunately this is only for Lawyers, for obvious reasons.**

How it works:
--------------
1) All players need to download and install the poker client:
http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/download/

Then follow the the instructions below to register to the poker club:
2) You are invited to join my private poker club for Home Games online.

- If you don't already have it, download the free PokerStars software from www.pokerstars.com - Open the main poker lobby, then click on the Home Games tab
- Click the 'Join a Poker Club' button
- Enter my Club ID number: 751903
- Enter my Invitation Code: vault dweller

That's it! Once I've approved your membership request, we'll be ready to start playing Wasteland Poker online together.

3)

The poker club will have multiple HEADSUP (1v1) tables available for ANYONE to hop on a table and start challenging players. However, for full ring games, I WILL HAVE TO BE ONLINE AND COLLECTING THE ENTRANCE FEES FOR THE TOURNAMENT.

Upside: Only SCHEDULED high stakes games will take place, with myself holding onto the bank to ensure the winner(s) get payed out properly.

Downside: Only headsup games can be done without my being online.
----------------------
I hope this interests a lot of poker players to come out of hiding and start wagering those stockpiles of caps. Even if you don't play poker, maybe you'll find a wastelander who is a competent competitor and you could "stake" him in a game.  There are plenty of rich folks out there who may want to put their money on your poker skill!

I don't think it is... He did that sort of event on FO2 with moderate success. The use of PokerStars is just a substitute for the lack of a comparable ingame feature.
Good luck getting it going and have fun, Jack.

If you'd like to suggest another poker client that allows home games to be setup and run in a similar and easy way to the PokerStars client I'm all ears.

But please don't drag down a thread because you don't want to have a discussion. Thankyou.

I'd love to know how I benefit from anyone playing with PlayChips on a PokerStars account.

Thankyou kindly, and yes I did host these games in Fonline 2 (That's where the screenshots originated from). The success was low, however we did manage to get about 5-6 games off. Was a lot of fun for those involved.

Has to be the worst advertising campaign ever, I would hope something if this caliber would not be getting paid to advertise to what, <200 people?  when there are other games that have thousands of players?

That being said, I might, but kind of lazy to download something :P

There is absolutely 0% chance you will get a virus from downloading the PokerStars app. I would appreciate the rumors and misinformation pass through me before you post untrue statements on the thread.

Here is what the client looks like when you have the club opened up. As you guys can see, we still have players from Fonline2 as part of the club. There is no scam here, just trying to organize poker games. If we could get a little less skepticism and more people genuinely interested in gambling in Fallout, we could have a lot of fun here.

And games can be played for ANYTHING.
But the games that I'll be organizing will have a cap buyin.

I'm thinking a game will never be less than a 100 cap buyin, and if we have some high roller we can certainly plan larger games.

So it seems as though you're uninterested in my idea. Why would waste your own time to post? Thankyou for the bump, and your action will always be welcome on my card table. Bring your caps and logic.
