Tips on Builds
« on: April 15, 2016, 07:27:46 AM »

So where do we start?

how big is the leadership bonus if i had 200 leadership 10 ch and i had the +1 crit chance module in how much crit chance would i receive?

what weapons are worth using whats the difference like I had ago in the server as it is and everything just owns me i feel like i do no damage with small guns or rifles whatever...are burst weapons viable even?

could someone throw a few builds in this forum thread so i could get a good idea and i dont see the commando perk in game is it removed?

Commando perk has been removed recently, the same effect is nor a weapon trait which has been put on all assault rifles.

As for builds, just go 5 5 10 5 5 5 5, grab a metal mk2, ca3 or sca3 and grad one of the weapons that everybody else uses. Look at some recent videos to see what people use, but usually it's

Pistols:
Deagle (torsospam)
14mm (head/groin aimed)

Smgs:
Scorpio (not as good as pistol or shotty or melee, but can be made to work)

Shotguns:
Pretty much any tier 2 shotgun will do. If you have a torsospam build, go singleshots and slugs, if not, go green ammo and burst

Assault rifles:
Steyr AUG. Cant go wrong with this

Battle rifles:
Good old tuctuc for safe scorefarming from a distance (G3A3)

Snipers:
DKS for good range, have seen MSG90s around, too
Mosin Nagant (the russian one) if you can get one

LMG:
Johnson LMG or, if you dont have it, BAR, though the latter is a bit worse.
Also seen some people with LSW

BG
Pretty much every MMG that's not M60
Milkor is good but more of a support weapon with smoke and firenades for bigger actions. Do not use in small fights
Incinerator

EW:
Pulse pistol
Plasma pistol, the one with the faster firing speed
Plasma Rifle
Rad Rifle
Laser rifle, normal one for aiming, ext cap for spamming.

Melee:
Ripper.
Ripper.
RIpper.
MPF and SSledge if attacked by ripper

All the weapons I listed are weapons you can take into ZC without immediately being frowned upon by your team.

10 ch with a 200 leadership fire team leader (FTL can be 1 ch as long as he/she has 200 leadership) will give you 15% crit chance bonus. With 7 ch this will be 13% and with 4 ch 9%. Other bonuses scale in more or less the same fashion. General consensus is that either 4 or 7 ch is most efficient.

No, melee is a primary skill, too. You wont be able to raise leadership to 200 if you havent already done so at 24.

The only way to raise secondary skills to 20 with post-24 skillpoints is to have 2 secondary skills at 200, which either calls for neglecting your primary skill a bit, or a lot of IN and educated. IIRC then 10in leads to 250/200/150 or 250/175/175. I cant recall if educated alone is enough for 250/200/200, probably need to drop primary to 225

Milkor is a good weapon with 40mm explosive nades. Long range and good damage,

Also if target is moving you HAVE to predict their movement, but if they're 30 hexes or closer, you can just click on them but would probably be pushed farther from you (I always ctrl shoot to prevent them from running away and KB closer)  Every projectile shot explosive weapon has travel time and there's a perk to increase the speed of travel time. Grenades also have travel time and some have fuses while others instantly explode.

Keep in mind you have to deploy with MMGs for maximum effectiveness and character perks to make builds that excel in deploying. Miniguns, Avengers, Gatling, rocket launcher and some others make the character walk.

Much more but gonna talk about it in my video I'm making.

Varies on stats bonuses to skills, it would be a bad build by stats if you will make it 250-200-200 imo, it is possible to make such a build with skilled, but it doesnt worth it atm.

Didn't think this was still a thing.

OK...When you go into your room did you enter combat mode? (Press A), the rat should become contoured.

AFAIK, you don't even have to kill the rat...You got access to your room anyway

Melee is the best 1on1 build because it has the best damage output but you need to be close enough. If you're up against an experienced melee who knows there is a lone noob around, of course you're gonna have a tough time.

The best way to kill a melee is to be able to shoot him from as much distance as possible, preferable with a torsospam weapon, especially if it has knockback perks like desert eagle or remington. Another way to counter Ripper melees, which are most prominent recently, is to have a super sledge or mega power fist handy.

If you know there is a melee in some building, then never go in and try to fight him toe to toe, unless youre specifically set up to counter it. With more of a SG sniper build, you could try to use 14mm pistol and groin shots, though I have never tried that myself. Other weapons that might be worth a try are the pulse pistol, if you have an agressive build yourself and you make the melee bridge 15-20hex to you first, then it might have enough damage to win the fight.

Generally though, melees are great in small fights but very situational and more difficult to play in bigger teamfights where you can't easily force people into 1on1 standoffs.

Now, if you're talking about the melee sneak hitting you in the back for 250, then it's a bit different. Sneaks with just a leatherjacket die very very quickly to deagle torsospam (though they die to pretty much anything very quickly). if you have a feeling there is a sneak around, remember that he has to come from your back to get his silent death damage bonus. If he doesnt hit you in the back, he wont deal enough damage to offtset the huge difference in armor and with quick reactions and a weapon that's not a grenade launcher or something, you should be able to kill him before he gets more attacks.

A burst weapon is also handy here to try to hexburst in the direction of the sneak to desneak him early. A good strategy against melee sneaks also is to run into the next corner and keep your back against the wall, this way there is no way for him to get silent death damage bonus.
