shoot effective range
« on: September 26, 2014, 05:13:23 AM »

Recently, I've found out about max range and effective range.

By using guides and wiki every1 could learn that with 150% in any battle skill your effective range will be a 2/3 out of max range.

From 150 to 250% of skill you can "spring" effective range. Which means that you can get your effective range to be higher than 2\3 out off max. But even with 250% your effective range can't be 1:1 to your max.

If you will equip a flamethrower, which has 8 maximum range (effective is 5t). Then by default, after receiving an attack command, your character will run up to the MAX range (8) instead of effective (5) and will always miss.

Even if you will get 250% BG skill, that flamer will have 7 efficient range, which means that from 8 hexes you will have 0% to hit.

Which does mean that you will have to MANUALLY move yourself within the 7 hexes range, and THEN shoot, in order to not miss a hit. It's nearly impossible to do, whenever the real fights start, since everyone is moving.

Is it possible to make something like an option to NOT shoot if you are not within the effective range of selected weapon? Or to not auto-shoot if your %hit chance is lower than *%?
