Some more nooby-azz questions
« on: May 05, 2016, 12:56:10 PM »

Hi, I've played a lot of Reloaded, am giving this a go hoping for lots of pvp.  Am lvl 6, like a lot already but got some questions:

- What's the best place to safely store/retrieve gear/mats/caps?
- Pick up all crafting mats?  Best items to vendor to make some caps?  My weight capacity fills up quick.
- I joined Hounds - where's a good place to find people to join up with or ask questions? Haven't seen many players..
- Once leveled 24+ is it easy to find pvp? Is there a faction teamspeak I should be in? What do most people do end game?
- Are there good interface mods or other mods I should look into?  I'd like a larger text box for example.
- Other advices for my noob ass?

Thanks a bunch.

- What's the best place to safely store/retrieve gear/mats/caps

Unfortunately there is no safe place to get materials and caps. You have to scavenge them from the core (Looting containers, cars, looting dead NPCs, etc.). You should have a room in your faction since you joined Hounds, I haven't seen the base yet so I don't know where the rooms are there. There are 2 forms of currency which are caps and memebucks (faction money). You get caps from...I actually don't even know :V

However you get memebucks from participating in zone control. More score you get, better you perform, more memebucks you get from Becky (NPC that gives you payout). Although Hounds have the highest number of players atm, so don't expect to do much during ZC...

- Pick up all crafting mats?  Best items to vendor to make some caps?  My weight capacity fills up quick.

Yes, pick up all. There are common, semi rare, and rare.

Common : Junk, Alloys, Metal, components, wood, electronic parts, fibers
Semi-Rare : All tubes, scopes, nitroglycerin, Hexogen,
Rare : Polymers, Springs, Kevlar, TNT, Capacitor, Plasma claw

List goes on for each.

- I joined Hounds - where's a good place to find people to join up with or ask questions? Haven't seen many players..

Type in Faction chat with /f(whatever you're gonna say here)

- Once leveled 24+ is it easy to find pvp? Is there a faction teamspeak I should be in? What do most people do end game

PvP! BTW you don't have to be level 24 to PvP. Pretty much need high gun skill and once you got that, start shooting shit. However there should be an NPC standing near somewhere that will give you XP so you can level. Also faction TS varies if Khans/Social Warriors/Ruskie squad lets you in it.

- Are there good interface mods or other mods I should look into?  I'd like a larger text box for example.

There is this one. Looks good but I'm using a different one :V

I also have some nooby azz questions. I've been trying to understand some perks but the descriptions are the only clue for some of them.
For ballistics, what does higher projectile speed actually do? More damage more accuracy or what?
For hail Mary how much does it increase the hits you get in a burst? How does that work?
Also about bleedover, does this mean if I have high of one gun skill I can use any gun? And if I have high doc does it mean I also have high fa automatically?
Is medicine doctor perk useful? It seems like the base bleedover of skill is good enough to not need to waste a perk on it.

In outside part (one with tents) map of faction base you have Grey Deathclaw/ Bald guy in CA that will level you up to lvl 24. PM me for TS address ;)

It's for weapons that shoot a projectile, such as Milkor, Rocket Launcher, Plasma cannon, any weapon that shoots something that has to travel, it will make the projectile move way faster.

For hail Mary how much does it increase the hits you get in a burst? How does that work?

I believe more bullets land on the target

Also about bleedover, does this mean if I have high of one gun skill I can use any gun? And if I have high doc does it mean I also have high fa automatically?

I have no idea :V

Ah OK I thought ballistics also applied to bullets. Thanks stalker m8.

And yeah it says more bullets land on target but I was wondering how that worked. Like is it automatic one extra bullet hits an enemy or something like a higher % chance for each bullet to hit or something. Probably not something you could answer.

You can easily gather shitload of wood, junk, flint and fibers.
You just need to do things I will write down in points:

1. Get sharp knife.
2. Get axe.
3. Go on WM, find some place few hexes from core and few hexes from base.
4. Drop in encounter there.
5. Be very very carefull, avoid NPCs.
6. Cut "fiber plants" to gain fiber.
7. Cut trees to get wood.
8. Pick up piles of junk (every picking up junk sprite will give you 3 junk parts into inv).
9. Pick up "small stones" to get flint.
10. You have shitload of wood, junk, flint and fibers without danger from unpredictable players, you just need to keep distance from npcs and avoid contact with them (it's qiuet simple after few tries).
11. Loot from core everything except wood, fibers, junk and flint...you have more space for rest more important now gear.

Good luck citizen...and be careful, Rangers of BBs are always somewhere out there to bring peace in wastelands.

Yes, say you are small guns or melee, your range and hit chance with big guns will increase slightly as your guns go up, but  you do not get the big gun weapon perks. But if you are in a pinch you can use any weapon and still get 95% to hit.
It seems like certain items had 150 Doc or FA requirement but if you had high enough in the other you could still use the item?  I'm not sure about that XD  No one knows 100% of the game mechanics, not even devs :P

Ah OK thanks. And game mechanics being a mystery bothers me lol. Guess I'll have to figure it out myself if I can.

Chance to hit versus eff weapon range vs nr of bullets in burst vs one hex value vs 314 other modifiers is Advanced Voodoo.

There is a skill bleed over between Primary skills, which is 50% past 150.

250SG is like 200BG and 200SG is like 175BG. There is full bleedover till 150.

Such bleedover only affects effects that are directly scaled from skill, like range or in case of FA, HP healed.

Bleedover between FA and Doc is similar, cant recall if it was 50 or 75 or 25 or whatever. Essentially, having 200FA also means you have good DOC, but you dont get the item perks on the docbags and FA kits.
