Mission Selection Changed
« on: September 23, 2014, 06:21:50 PM »

So I was at the Pr0 mission area, and I noticed that there were no Search & Destroy Missions available. Since those are my favorite, I decided to wait for one to appear! A few minutes later, an easy A+ mission popped up so I decided to grab it. Around the same time as me, another dude was talking to the Missions guy. I clicked "accept' and expected to see "You have enrolled blah blah blah".. But guess what! The other dude got it before me!!! How annoying, right?

My suggestion is to make the option available to pick which type of mission you're after. So instead of just having 5 or 6 random missions at a time, make the options some thing like this;

Mission Giver - Hello, what kind of missions are you interested in this time?

Choice / Search & Destroy, Assassination or Retrieval.
for whichever you choose: Give 5 or 6 missions in that category to choose from, rank A - SSS (or random?)

Can be the same for the lower level missions, Rank F - B.

Opinions?

Just expand the list of available missions to 10. Simplest solution.

That still doesn't mean for sure that you'll get the fun ones!

I already said my piece about missions really (that they need to be more structured i.e. no SS missions with rock throwing squatters and no B missions with CA LMG hit squads).

But I like you idea too :)

Well I do like them, I see no problem in doing different mission types forcefully ^^.

Disagree

You should be forced to play even those types that you dont like once in a while.

Everyone would always just take whatever type he can clear fastest otherwise. I'd always take assassination missions since i can solo clear them quickly even on A or S rank just by sneaking and picking off the civilians with a sniper rifle.

People already choose the "easiest" one that is available, nobody does the "unknown" weapons mission, and they just build up until there are 5 unknown missions left at base.

People just end up "cycling" the missions that are potentially really bad (logging into an unused alt and failing a mission, which clears it and adds a new one) Which in turn leaves 4 bad missions and one potentially good one.

I see what you are saying and why, but why wouldn't you choose a mission that suits your playstyle or your squads playstyle (and why shouldn't you be allowed to)? I also don't mind assassination missions, but I know many people who hate them because the target always gets away from them, similarly I hate retrieve as you have to loot every last corpse to make sure you didn't miss a box.

To prevent only one type of mission ever being attempted you could make the mission class have the potential to be wrong, much like the estimated numbers etc, so you choose an assassination mission, but there's a 25% chance the intel was wrong and it's actually a search and destroy, from there you would have to decide whether to proceed or not.

Wrong, the more "unknown" I see, the more I want to do that mission, coz it boosts the price.
Recently made 5.900 exp for 1 S ranked mission, just because it had all "unknown".

LoL I do them too, as they are usually the only ones left.

Do you laugh too when you bring 4 fully kitted out dudes to an unknown SS and they charge at you with rocks?

I laugh when after that you receive better rewards than for deadly force SSS.
