Title: Major Lag when playing.
Post by: agentjonjon on September 18, 2014, 06:43:23 PM
I'm getting lag on the game. About 10 fps constantly with a 100 ping average.
RAM: 4GB (No idea what DDR4 or 3 or 9000 i have no idea.)(9000 is a joke, by the way)
Pentium 4 2.4 GH
Intel HD Graphics
Help? And also, the game scrolls a little too slowly.

Change your fps cap in the video settings to something higher, like 220 (how mine is)

You can also change the speed on how the game scrolls in the config too.

100 ping is nothing, there are players with 500+ and still manage to play.

Lags and fps or fps drop are not the same thing, try the solution posted before. If it doesn't work try to explain what do you call "lag".

The server can be laggy sometimes, we are working on this issue. Thanks for your comprehension and patience.

Alright, well, I tried the fix but it doesn't seem to increase my FPS. And by lag, i mean the game runs slowly. Like the character moves slowly and the animations and scrolling goes by slowly. And it's ok if this is the server, I'm still enjoying the game, but a solution would be very much appreciated!

if it's slow as you describe, it's not the server. Try to adjust your sleep by alt +/- ingame.

Can someone tell me what exactly sleep adjust does? I have no idea and changing it doesn't seem to have any effect for me.

Ok, the sleep is just editing the fixed FPS. And what about any video settings in the Video tab in FOconfig application? Is there anything i can adjust? Here is a snapshot of my current settings

DirectX Client? What's that and where can i get it? And i don't think my RAM is broken, it's been working fine. It may be a little underpowered for FO-AOP But meh, if that's the problem then I'll just deal.

Maybe he wanted to notice that it's look strange that you have already ddr4 ram as it should start to be sold in 2015 .. even more strange with a pentium 4.

The directx client is here : http://fonline-aop.net/forum/index.php?topic=782.0

Ohhh. Wait, i have no idea what DDR4 ram is anyways. I guess i meant DDR3. I just guessed that i had DDR3 (or something) since.. i cannot find where i can find out what DDR# Ram i have. Point is is that i have 4 gbs of ram. Isn't that what matters? Or is DDR4 some special awesome new Ram, which is probably is.
