Title: 18.09.2014 Changelog
Post by: cirn0 on September 17, 2014, 07:39:26 PM
ATTENTION!
To fix many issues related to drug items, leadership boosts and such other game breaking bugs, a SPECIAL/Skill points reroll is required from every character.

REROLL CAN BE PERFORMED SAFELY.
- If you rerolled during the first 30 minutes of the patch (if you rerolled before 9:30 EST [ 1:30 AM GMT ]) and lost PvE skills, cirn0 will personally fix your problem. Just find me on irc or ingame using the ~help command.
- For all those that rerolled after the second patch 9:30 EST till 12 PM, the only thing that I forgot then is Lifegiver and Deadman walker + Level 24 + characters. This can be fixed by simply rerolling again without the assistance of any GM.

The command to use is the following:

~reroll S P E C I A L
(example ~reroll 6 8 6 4 6 5 5)
then confirm your choice typing ~reroll confirm

- You can spend 40 points through your stats as usual. ALL TRAITS AND GAIN-SPECIAL PERKS WILL BE ADDED AUTOMATICALLY, so don't account them in your total.
- If your character lvl is >24, your level will drop to 24 after rerolling to allow you to invest all your skill points. As soon as you hit anything for experience you will immediately get back to the level you were before as well as get your post 24 skill points.
- Reroll is usable once and only once for every character, and you have one more reroll if you messed up your profile by accident. There will be a grace period of five days to reroll your stats if your char has been bugged, you will be dropped to 1 on all SPECIAL until you reroll afterwards. We advise you to just choose the same build as you had when you created your character, but you do as you like. Choose carefully!

THIS REROLL DOES NOT LET YOU CHANGE PERKS OR TRAITS OR TAGS

Bugfixes:
- Fixed Drug related issues and effects are now lost properly on death.
- Fixed descriptions for the drug effects.
- Fixed some stuff with carry weight.
- Wakizashi and combat knives thrust mode really works now.
- Fixed a bug with the minigun Avenger.
- ~dropsquad command should work now.
- Fixed hex_firing a two handed weapon with broken limbs bug.
- Fixed Food issue.
- Fixed Random Assignment mobs respawning.
- Fixed some barter related issues.
- Merchant fix for rounding down on item value for the mine and junk merchants.
- Dungeon Mob EXP fixed , EXP was not refreshed on respawning before.
- dialog fixes.
- multiple map fixes.
- item fixes.

Tweaks:
- Lowered Alarm sensitivity in Assassination missions.
- Increased max charge of stealth boy to 30 minutes, up from 20.
- Added info about lvl and gear req when you are denied entry to zone that is being captured.
- ZC payout (reputation and caps) has been boosted quite a bit.
- All northern grids hiding spots blocked on Core maps.
- All patrol routes revised to try to prevent spawn kill when traveling in the Core. The efficiency of that first fix varies from map to map but all in all, it should happen less often.
- All random spawn pools revised: Human and stronger mobs presence in the Core has been reduced. Animal spawn has been increased. There are now more predictable animal types in each Core map.
(For your information, out of Phoenix Fire geckos and brahmins show up mostly in desert random encounters, Deathclaws and golden/silver geckos in mountains, and humans in city maps.)
- Mobs will spawn more frequently on Maryland Avenue, Sun City Grande, Paradise Valley and Warmart, less on Adams School, Vault-Tec Enterprises, Eastern Square and Central City Village.
- Faction guards now spawn from time to time on Adams School, Vault-Tec Enterprises, Eastern Square and Central City Village.
- Faction guards spawn more often on gate maps.
- Strong mobs (Hellfire Geckos, Aliens Matriarchs, Ancient Floaters, Primary Centaurs, Patriarchs & Matriarchs & Grey Deathclaws) have received a boost to their hps, armors, speed and exp. All of them run as fast or faster than humans.
- Mutants received speed, armor and hp boosts as well. Ghouls received hp boosts.
- All the animals have been rebalanced and the experience gains have generally increased.
- Many animals have received slight speed boosts. In general, stronger variants are faster than weaker ones.
- New mutant equipment for all muties.
- New ghoul equipment for all ghouls.
- Children equipment for all children (rocks are going to fly once more!).
- Phoenix Archives dungeon has received a few modifications and fixes:
-> in general, animals are less numerous but more powerful. Albino molerats especially should be seriously focused.
-> Bosses (Blindfang, Tom Ankhs, Harshskin) have received boosts to their stats.
-> Harshskin bossroom has received some modifications, and many molerats have been removed.
-> ghouls have received a boost to their hps.

Additions:
- The Armor Class has been re-implemented (WIP):
-> Armor Class is a % chance of reducing aimed shots into non-aimed shots. The effect is signified by an "Evaded" readout.
-> Armor Class while standing still is your luck attribute.
-> While moving, your Armor Class equals to 10 + 2 * Agility + Dodger Perk (if you have it).
-> Perception reduces target's Armor Class roll by 2 * perception.

- Right clicking now closes the context menu.
- New creatures will spawn in Phoenix buildings: Deathclaws and molerats.
- new platoon names have been added.
- Added puffer and armed puffer graphics.
- Added new rubber doll and destroyed rubber doll ground icons (the most important).

Interface improvements:
- enhanced main UI halos with better blur, enhanced font for ammo and HP, bleed and rad icons are now moved on the right.
- F1 help screen updated.
- new icons for leader/follower when tagging someone in-game.
- new main UI needles.
- new buttons.
- Fixed a bug in the dialog box.
- Fixed a bug with multiple bodies on inventory.
- Quit button polished.
- a lot of polishing and images optimization.

RUN THE UPDATER TO GET THE NEW FILES.

Sorry I don't know how it works exactly. In case of Gifted we have to select every special attribute one point lower and then we'll be able to select traits, perks and distribute skill points or how does it work?

edit: ok so it seems "IT DOES NOT LET YOU CHANGE PERKS OR TRAITS OR TAGS"

Got problem after reroll the same stats, i got 30 weight O_o
Nickname "Siski" Can you back character skills/stats/perks
Because lost
- weight
- science/engineering skills
- 20hp from perk lifegiver
- motivation of hamster(
Title: Re: 18.09.2012 Changelog
Post by: Esper on September 17, 2014, 07:59:19 PM
Sweet, only one problem for me... what about my science/engineering/persuasion skills? They're all at default. And I didn't know endurance gave such a drastic health boost, lost over 30 health after lowering it by 1! xD Bad decision on my part. Oh well.

Also really low carry weight now. Is that intentional?

Same here, after running the Updater, the launcher reports Fonline.zip is missing. After running it twice more, still can't get in.

Ok, editing the datafiles.cfg allowed me into the game.

Next problem is that when I try to reroll it is telling me that my stats add up to 47 and not 40. Since I have the Gifted trait, they should add up to 47.

My character in game I have 6 Armor class

The entire reroll thing has bugged up everything... maybe suggest that one should wait to reroll until things are fixed.

Linkz: Armor Class calculation has been changed.

Also encountered Carry Weight issues, got 40 now, even though I didn't change ST value.

-> While moving, your Armor Class equals to 10 + 2 * Agility + Dodger Perk (if you have it).

This formula seems wrong.

With only 4 Agility and no dodger perk, my AC reaches 50 while running, while it should be 10+2*4 = 18

armor class BUG

I have 9AGI AND 6LK = 33 armor class with character creation
My character in game I have 6 Armor class

Read the whole changenotes...
while standing still your AC = LUK

Update looks nice, what doesn't is that PE ignores AC...
Oh well, at least those pesky snipers will be forced to pump more PE, and not run with their 6-7 STAT.
Does "standing still" LK AC work when you are knocked-out?
Currently at work, can't share all the hype for non-working clients ;P.

Just put one point less in the affected skills, works just fine.

Also, lifegiver is not registering correctly. I have the exact same skills now as before the update and I'm not regaining the 20 health boost of lifegiver. Carryweight is working fine now, though support skills are still default.

I'm not sure people are willing to give up 12.5 AP/s for this in a situation where they would have normally stood still. Assuming I've interpreted it correctly, you won't be dodging bullets but instead will downgrade aimed shots into regular shots.

My guess is that it makes tactics that already involve moving around better, but if you aren't getting any other benefit from moving isn't worth it.

Escaping enemies might be easier now, since typically aimed shots to knock down or slow are used to prevent escape.

I am not sure I follow you.

If my S.P.E.C.I.A.L. STATS were 6 8 6 6 7 7 7 before the patch, I am suppose to ~ reroll 5 7 5 5 6 6 6? And when I do my SKILLS like Engineering and Small Guns are going to be reset to what they were when I was level 1? and My Lifegiver PERK will cease to function?

Why would I want to lose all the SKILL points and time I have been investing in my SKILLS? Why would I want to loose one point on each of my S.P.E.C.I.A.L. STATS and still be without Tag skills?

Somebody is going to have to explain this very carefully and slowly to me, or I am not going to use the ~reroll command. I only see downsides to doing this.

Gifted is applied after your reroll, so putting 1 less in each point will give you the total you want.

You should receive all of your skillpoints again to spend however you choose, after you select what intelligence you want.

If you don't reroll, your SPECIAL will be at 1 each. The only downside to using this is that some parts seem buggy. That said, from what I can tell everything can be dealt with so far except the lifegiver bug which would probably get fixed anyway.

Also I am gifted and I fear if I reroll I will not be able to spend skillpoints on combat skills because I am level 25 already. Please do it some other way maybe?

Well, if the passive stats (engineering, science, presuasion) are going to be wiped after reroll, then at least let us do FULL reroll, with changing tags and perks...

Still it sucks, cause I worked quite hard to get my stats so high and now it's all lost ;/

You don't lose anything if you do, ask gm ~help

The purpose of this reroll is to FIX bugged character (NOT to change tagged skill or perks or reset science engineering etc...)

Just rerolled 1 minute ago, livegiver bonus applied, and engineer+science stayed on 119 and 105
(same as before reroll).

I confirm that as well. People are bitching because they were not patient and wanted everything straight away. Pro tip: don't do serious things like character reroll straight after an update next time.

Those issues you're facing are not desired of course. It's just that rerolling is a really complex script to handle and to test afterwards. And as you can see, it doesn't work for everything too. We focused on getting something working for the SPECIAL and then skills since many characters were broken during the first days, because of some bugs and abuses.

We're currently working extremely hard to fix the game issues, and we're only 2 really fixing it at the moment, so please be patient.

I wouldn't blame anyone for the bugs he had, at least those who had bugs helped us to identify and fix them. I have to talk to cirn0 but afaik, rerolls performed by now seem to work fine (?). We'll see what we can do to fix the bugged characters asap.

For those who just read this now, just wait until performing the reroll.

To everyone scared by this reroll or who thinks he doesn't need it, the goal is to put everyone back to equality with certainty, without wiping the whole character database. Bugs from the first days have gone all ways, ruining characters but perhaps also boosted some.

Yes but someone mentioned some crazy number of rerolled characters,i don't see how's that possible unless everyone went to reroll as soon as it was possible which means they didnt think about consequences and that it may not actually work perfectly instantly....Give devs some time, they'll fix it even if it means 1 by 1.

Nah it's my fault and  I apologise, for the first 30 minutes of the patch if you rerolled before 9:30 EST Yesterday [ 1:30 AM GMT ] and lost PvE skills, I will personally fix your problem. Just find me on irc or ingame using the ~help command. Yesterday I've gotten at least 30 ~help requests to fix their characters and I will continue to assist with players today when I am back on.

For all those that rerolled after the second patch 9:30 EST till 12 PM, the only thing that I forgot then is Lifegiver and Deadman walker + Level 24 + characters. This can be fixed by simply rerolling again without the assistance of any GM.

Currently, there are no more reported issues, you're level drops to 24, so use all your skill  points then. As soon as you hit anything for experience you will immediate get back to the level you were before as well as get your post 24 skill-point.

Regarding traits and gained stats via perks, the system accounts for the SPECIAL, such that if you have gifted and rerolled 5 5 5 5 5 5 5, it will put you to 6 6 6 6 6 6 6. Same goes for all the other traits.

What about bugged AC? Before I rerolled i had an incorrect AC of 52 (6 AGI + 8 Luck). After reroll it is now correctly 30. I dont see how you can set everyone on equal footing unless you force reroll everyone or force a recalculation of AC on next login.
Title: Re: 18.09.2014 Changelog
Post by: cirn0 on September 18, 2014, 10:38:58 AM
The objective of this reroll is infact to set everyone to equal footing after removing all the bugged stats. As stated in the first post:

There will be a grace period of five days to reroll your stats if your char has been bugged, you will be dropped to 1 on all SPECIAL until you reroll afterwards.

When we have this functionality hammered out we can easily implement build breaking changes without requiring a wipe of the server. The next step of this feature is to of course to give back traits, as well as perks and tags giving players a feature that allows full rerolling of their character with GM assistance. But of course these reroll points will be given out to everyone only after game changing patches or bug discovery.

Cirn0 btw those missing 3 skill points (if you remember through all the other help requests) appeared after i clicked accept to the changes, so that is a non issue really, I could hazard a guess that they were refunded points for going 1 over 250 or 200 with an odd number skill.

Post by: artaman on September 18, 2014, 10:50:07 AM
So to clarify, As per the main post: So after a grace period of 5 days, a forced drop in stats to 1 will only apply to bugged characters or to every character who has not yet rerolled?

The updater only concerns graphics. You're just missing the last improvements to the interface and all the added sprites, for example item graphics.

To fix that without assistance you need squad leader to drop the squad.

1 more question from the developers please:

I rerolled my SPECIAL stats.

You mentioned int he future we would be able to re-change our Perks and Traits as well. In that case, when that happens, if I change my traits to "Skilled" and I am above level 24 already where the soft cap has applied, do you think it will also re-apply the skill points so that we can re-max our skills in another way?

It would seem logical, but I just would like a confirmation from your side that it is possible so I don't have to re-do another character again :D

Thank you :D
